boring too... I actually do it from time to time just because it's kinda fun to do. I love popping shots off into their faces. :D I also do it for the money, not the HR. I then use the money to buy Ice Crystals when they are on sale, and then cash them in for resources. Still trying to get my 1,000,000 resources award.

| Did more hunting with my younger brother yesterday, with him preferring his Kelbi bow (we both have the Great Kelbi Deershot, which is what he's been using). We started with the anticipated "Where Gods Fear to Tread," which went well, with the only cart being from me getting that electric combo, with Ala knocking you down, then hitting you as soon as you stand back up. Thinking I should've changed out of my gold Rathian armor now, but, oh well. I forged the Dark Claw after this hunt, which I've been one easy material away from for a while now. We then fought the Dire Miralis, which, after he carted twice, he decided a bow is a bad idea against it for him, though we still won. I forged the Megiddo Crest, but I've got to work on getting cash now, so that wasn't upgraded because I couldn't afford to. We tried the event Abyssal, but my brother carted thrice on that. We were successful on the normal Abyssal after this, no carts, which got me up to rank ninety, so we did "Heavy Hitters," which resulted in no carts, too. We then did "Mountain Massacre" and "Crus Control," both of which were for materials and were without any carts. I was able to get up to ninety-one while my brother's now at seventy-three. For today, I'm aiming more for free hunting out in the woods to try to get the award for getting all the rare commodities. For fun, I'm going in all Vangis X with my Nero's Calamity | |

Urgh. Why am I the only one who finds G-Rank next to impossible?

iirc that quest has a Gold Crown sized Arzuros by default. G rank one, right?

iirc that quest has a Gold Crown sized Arzuros by default. G rank one, right? Yeah that's the one; thought I got a bit lucky. Disappointed that it went down just as easily... Aren't larger monsters supposed to have slightly more health than their smaller counterparts? Or was that an urban myth from the Tri days...

I would guess it just depends on the quest, if that doesn't apply to all of them. I'm thinking it doesn't apply to all but certain ones, personally... I mean, I don't know about anyone else, but that double green Plesi quest, "A Father and Son Outing," has me thinking at least that huge Plesioth has had its power increased (kept basically one-hitting my brother when we tried it) and its health increased, because I can target it all I want solo and can't fell it after I even reach the ten minute warning, yet that little buddy of its goes down easily. With the double Arzuros, however, I can make a quick match out of both of them, but I believe the larger one might be a bit stronger? They seem pretty equal to me in health, but I could be wrong :/ It was either the double Ian or pink and regular Ian that I got my large gold Ian from, and that one showed no difference, health or strength-wise. I know that one wasn't a set gold and all, but it still could've been stronger.

Glad you like it, I wouldn't have bothered if you didn't have Element Attack Up on your set so it works great with your Thunder S. Just remember that if you want the full potential of using that gun with your set, use your normal shots on the legs (highest hitzone for bullet) and your Thunder S on the head. You'll trip Gold Ian like crazy. I couldn't tell if you were aiming for the legs or the wings when we played together. That gun can also use Water S, so it's a good alternative for Silver Los as well.

Always capture. I didn't even know it was possible to carve them. All I know is that I've never EVER carved one (if it is possible) from the 60-80+ Brachydios' I've carved. That counts both HR and G rank. I fought 3 G rank Alatreons today. Got 3 DragonSphires too! Not to mention a bunch of Swayers, which allot of people seem to have trouble getting for whatever reason. 10 weapons over Rarity 6, fully upgraded for each weapon type: 4/12 I have 10 fully upgraded lances, hammers, LS, and HGBs. I have 9 bows, 7 DSs, 7 GSs, 4-5? Sns, 7 Swaxs, 3 HHs, 2-3 GLs, and 9 LBGs.

| ^Wish I could offer, but I can't do the multiplayer via internet, sorry ^^"
Went solo hunting yesterday and successfully found my small gold crown for Great Baggi, along with getting a silver large crown for Green Narga, which is a start, since I didn't have any crowns for that Narga yet. When I did "Troubling Tremors," I also tried the switch axe class for the first time in a long time, which I did succeed on the hunt with no carts, but that was an overwhelming transition from long sword to switch axes o.o" I upgraded two weapons, so now I have the Bamboo Kaguya and the Crimsidian.

| It all depends because if you're using high element weapon (bamboo bow i.e) or element bowgun (HBG from ala, abyssal LBG etc.) you should go for head, wings and back. If you have weakness expliot it's good to shot legs (preferably when ian is gliding).
Also from my personal exp, wings seem to be weaker to element than head and tends to often stun both raths. It's all because wings has relatively high hitzone for bullets and also element weakness, while head has pretty low hitzone for bullet and best element weakness. It's pretty much the same with legs - highest hitzone with shots and very low elemental weakness.
However, if you're going with normal or pierce - going for legs is probably your best bet.
About my hunts: with couple of friends we did some naked rust weapon runs. We killed G rank R. ludroth within 10 min. Was fun.

| Did some hunting with my brother and older sister on the twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth, which was fun, especially since usually it's hard to keep these two calm while the three of us hunt, but it happened. On the twenty-fifth, though, I hunted with one, then the other, not both at the same time, since my sister changed games by the time my brother decided he wanted to do some hunts. I'm hoping to work more on getting crowns today, which will also help me work on ranking up, since I've reached ninety-six and am close to getting that rank 100 quest. If I get that quest, then I'll stop crown hunting so I can give it a go. | |
