PostMetroid Prime Trilogy

As many know nintendo has started Re-Releasing Wii games onto the WiiU's virtual console.

Before you would have to access the "Wii" menue on the WiiU and start games from there using a wiimote. Nintendo has now started adding Wii games (with function updates) to the WiiU eshop.

Mario galaxy 2 was the first to be added with the "Metroid Prime Trilogy" releasing this week in Europe.

Though the games them selves are the exact some of the VC version will allow you to use the game pad and pro controller and and instead of going through the Wii program the game will be downloaded directly to the WiiU home pages.

Anyways if you didn't pick the Trilogy up at launch or were unwilling to pay $60 for a used copy you can now pick it up for $19.99 (or $9.99 on sale).

Holy shit,  really?! Lads... You all know what this means - F-ZERO GX MOTHERFUCKERS >:D

Edit: just remembered GX is gamecube, doh. But surely we'll see it soon enough!

It's actually questionable as to why they did this vs each game individually which is both better controls (motion controls aren't AS good in the first two), and easier to try speed running with.

^ Since the first game was originally on the GameCube and they are not releasing gamecube games just Wii games, it only makes since that they would release the trilogy set that was on Wii and not individual titles that were by themselves on the GC.

Really though, no complaints on my part as the Trilogy will only be $9.99 during release week and should be compatable with Gamepad controlls.

What? The original controls were garbage. The only thing they had over the motion controls is the faster/smoother visor/beam switching.

And yet speedrunners for the first two Prime games prefer the original controller ones vs the Trilogy versions.

FYI: Speedrunning isn't the endgame of being good at a game, it's taking the fastest route

I'll let you know when I start speed running. Until then, I'll take the ability to move and aim over the resident evil controls.

Soooooo, it's still mostly a rumor but it seems like a metroid game may be on Nins list of stuff they are bringing to E3 this year.

Not getting my hopes up but since they already have all their other main series with a game out or coming out this year already it'd be nice to get a metroid for late this year or early next.
