| I think he tried to keep his answers very politically correct towards the Japanese veiw of western releases. So basically I think he probably had a "script" to go by on what he could say and could not say and to remain as neutral with his answers as possible. Some of what he talked about was social networking and the differences in the way it is in Japan and games made for Japan and games with a western release already in mind.
If you have ever spent any time in Japan or Korea you would see that their ideas of online socializing and ours do differ a bit. This could also be the reason some "Capcom" games are looked at as not being fit for a western audience.

I guess with the Western release there will be online gameplay, so I will be seeing you guys on Tri G whenever it's released here? It's still going to be Roon too. I can't change that now can I? Ha. That was a fun 2 month old game of telephone to read. The thread said the magazine said it confirmed a EU and US release. The magazine specifically mentioned a US release was not confirmed. While all things currently point to an EU release, the US has not been so lucky. There are also rumors of online (the magazine made no mention), but I won't believe em til I see em.

| Got an idea how could they add "online" to the game... in some way. They could use the wifi in the 3ds in a way that it doesnt takes too much space neither makes the game crash. With the PSP they could use the xlink.kai and the adhoc to connect to "online" when the game didn't had that feature in first place. What it did was to "make the console think that there was someone in the room in which you where". They can make something similar using the Wifi without the need to create servers or other things. Then dcj once said that the online wasn't possible in Tri G because of the "great amount of data and actions" ocurring in the game, so there is this problem. But if they can make something like this, then we have a pseudo online that doesnt affect in the game. PD: This is just an idea, dunno if someone already thought/posted something similar. | |

| ^ I'm not sure that I ever said that. If I did which post was it because the 3DS would have no problem handling that amount of content over the Internet or local.
I have said in the past that I don't feel 3G needs online but that's a personal opinion as many people in my area have 3DS' and play monster hunter and it won't effect me as much as others. But that was a selfish comment on my part and I have séance rethought that stance.
No, I'm pretty sure online was left out oF the mobile mh games original because it was felt unneeded for the Japanese market. Of they did add it for a Western release I don't see a problem with the 3DS handling the data in any way at all.
Also, I am not sure how much knowledge you have of how the data for Tri was sent. If I recal correctly one persons wii was used as the host where the main information on hit points, health and monster amounts was kept. The only monster that actually had full shared location data was the large monsters and minion monsters were handled with the individual wii's. There was also a slight delay on data transmission, maybe a second or two. This cut down on the total band with used and made it fairly easy on the wii systems to run the online portion of the game. I am sure it would be about the same with 3G on the 3DS where the individual 3DS' handle a majority of the data with a host 3DS doing only the main calculations.
But I could be wrong. | |

In MH3G speculations thread, I think that was there. It was actually answering a question I made that was like "Revelations have online. Mario Kart 7 has online. Why 3G cant have online"
I have said in the past that I don't feel 3G needs online but that's a personal opinion as many people in my area have 3DS' and play monster hunter and it won't effect me as much as others. But that was a selfish comment on my part and I have séance rethought that stance.
I'm still thinking on the people who have either: Someone that plays MH but dont have 3ds or That have 3ds but wont get Tri G.

The developers said that it wasn't needed as everybody, in every corner in japan that had PSP, played MH so it wasnt something really needed there. But in this surroundings it is better to have a long range connection because of great distances or the players around.
Also, I am not sure how much knowledge you have of how the data for Tri was sent. In online this can work in the 3DS. I remember that someone said that the severs would be too heavy to the 3ds to stand or something like that.
But I could be wrong. It all depends on Capcom decisions and how much we annoy them.

But seriously, you have to remember the decision was not Capcoms alone. Nintendo also had a hand in it and historically Nintendo is shy around a lot of online things. Though you are correct in MK7 having a lot of online support the online interaction it provides is still a lot less than what you would see in a game such as MH. In MH you have player to player interactions, talking, you have the monster data, and a lot more. In MK7 how much interactis there really between the players?
And thats where Nintendo gets shy... even on the 3DS streetpass nintendo has many words and phrases blocked. on mario Kart you cant interact aside from racing. With MH3G nintendo cant really stop people from saying things to each other if they are beside each other but by not adding online they can add that level of safety. SO in my opinion I do not think in the development of 3G it was all Capcom's decision to not add online but a big influence from Nintendo as well. That post was about Nintendo censoring online, nothing about the 3DS not being "ABLE" to do online in 3G. Big difference in Nintendo not wanting to and not being able to.

No, it was this response of the end of the post. - Roik wrote:
The only issue here is that Capcom is either unable or too lazy (or sees no reason) to support online play. My guess is too lazy. Just look at Mario Kart 7. That game has (worldwide?) online mode and that's a racing game with 8 players instead of 4. I really doubt Monster Hunter would need to exchange more data between the systems than a racing game such as Mario Kart. - dcj91x wrote:
- ^actually Mh would have to exchange a lot more data than a racing game. Mostly due to having to keep up with where everyone is at, what they are doing, what damage is delt to everyone, and the monsters and several other things. Localy this information is easy to send back and forth but over a server.. but I am not that up on how everything works so there could be more to it.
The response of the data sending information may have mislead people.

| Which is true, a game like MH would have more data to send than a game like MK7. But at no time do I say it couldn't be done.
I can see though how it could be misread.
No, the 3DS can handle online just fine. That post was only about how the two different games would send different amounts of data online nothing about the 3DS not being able to do it.
