| Basically, everything. There's no real great shortcut, some quests do give a slight bit more than others though (endgame does have a bit of difference)
The most important thing is efficiency. If there's a monster you can kill easily and swiftly, then go for that. But most important will be having a team, 4 persons working together will make quests that much faster. If it's with randies, go with the flow, just try and do as many quests as possible, instead of bickering about what to hunt (materials aren't your priority it seems). If it's with friends, you should either go for what they need if you don't care, or go with what you are good at as a team. Killing monsters in a 15 minute cycle will be better than taking 30 minutes by yourself, no matter how well you do it.
Note to all: This is the question hotline for MH3, which means it is ONLY meant for Monster Hunter Tri ingame information.

| The [Advanced] quests give significantly more HRP than the other quests, so when you have any of those available (except Jaggia Menace), run those. They give about 1200 HRP. The best of any other 4* quest is about 1000 HRP, so it's a pretty good boost. | |

| It depends on the armor set. The Rath ones take up more slots than the jaggi ones but have more points on the overall, and defense down isn't even a skill you have to worry about in the first place, you can negate it with an armor seed. If you have the slots then the rath gem is better, if not then jaggi gems won't hurt.
If you don't mind me asking, what are you trying to gem in to what armor?

I'm pretty sure you'd get jaggi scales from jaggi.... Depends on your set, tell me your set.

Let's see what the max on assault jewels is: 1 on weapon, 5 on armor, 1 on tali. 7x3 = 21 points of attack and -7 points defense. Even at max jeweled-ness the negative defense points still need more negativity to do anything. How is it a concern in your case to not just gem for max effect?

You can get the seals from the quests 2 Diablos, Ian+los, Lagi+Gobul, 2 Bari and Gann+Agnaktor. Whichever you find easier is up to personal prefferance. The annoying thing with HR 51 Ian+los is that they will always follow each other, and dungs dont often work. I preffer double Bari or Gaan+Agna more to be honest, as Gaan is a joke with a good hammer user and the 2 Baris tend to avoid each other. I do however find that Ian+los tend to give seals more, but that is from my experience.

I do however find that Ian+los tend to give seals more, but that is from my experience. Ian and Los are cake walks with an entire team that use the EXTREMELY popular helios+vangis armour combo and overpowered Alatreon weapons. I find Agna and Gaan annoying because of the fact that, at least with me, they like to be near eachother. Another annoying thing is Agna sniping you while attacking Gaan. Double Bari is... sort of easy. I did it with 2 players, and it was pretty hard, but if you had a full team of fire Longsword users (dancing hellfire or wyvern blade flare) then they probably wouldn't take very long... Double Diablos... don't even bother... Diablos is so ******* annoying in tri... he was so easy in freedom unite... Lagi + Gobul... only if you're excellent in underwater combat and you don't mind Gobul sucking you up while Lagi is comboing you. Overall, it really depends on preferance but... Los+Ian is your best bet for easy, quick, and efficent c.seal farming.

I still don't understand the concept, is it a speed run thing?

I still don't understand the concept, is it a speed run thing? It's a speed trick. When you use an item, carve, etc., there is an animation. Part of the animation occurs before the item takes effect, and part after. By timing the small bomb properly, it blows up just as the item takes effect, so that the hunter doesn't have to wait for the whole animation to finish. It's not really item cancelling as item animation canceling. Similar speedups are knowing which attack recoveries can be avoided by dodging/rolling. It works better with teammates kicking you when you use a potion, whetstone, drink, cooked meat, etc.

I've already got full Lagriacus, Baggi and Agnaktor armour, and I obviously have access to all high rank equipment (saying this because I know some + versions are better). Low rank Rathalos armor is alot better than the HR version, you can easily gem for AUL and crit eye+1/2. This makes it great throughout the game. I wouldnt worry about defence down small, its only -10 from your total defence. Low rank Qurupeco is also better than its high rank version, which is a babysitting armor set. Low Peco has Evade+1, Recovery Up, Defence up small (+11 points) and +4 points to attack, so with an attack +5 1 slot or attack+6 talisman you can get AUS and DUS as well as up to 5 slots spare for any C skill you want (or speed sharpen, which is a B skill). This set lasted me until I got Barioth+ armor, so its a good investment in my opinion.

| Just wondering what would be the best set up for me to take my first Alatreon(urgent). Since Tri servers are going down soon, wanted to reach my main goal in the game, getting Alatreon Hammer =) So here are my options: Armors: - Quote :
OF Rathalos Armor OF Lagiacrus Rathian+ G.Jaggi +
Weapons: - Quote :
Vortastrophe(G) Huracan Hammer(P) Iron Impact Jhen Mohran Hammer Lava Core Hammer Sabertooth(G)
As you can see I'm more of a hammer person, but I also have the Barioth lance for Diablos purposes =) I thought maybe a safer approach would be using Rathalos + Sabertooth, since it will be my first time might as well be worried about not carting ><; Any special supply items I should bring? What do you guys think?

| I'd say you use that Over forged Rathalos and Barioth Lance.
If you had Agnaktor+ armor, I'd suggest that with lance for survival purposes(natural guard +2 will make you an impenetrable wall and you could gem in Evasion+1 or 2[with the help of an evasion+6-7 Two slot talisman]... Or you could use a Barioth+ set for evade lancing).
Items I usually bring with me are:
Potions Mega Potions Honey(to make more Mega potions) Smoke bomb(for preparation uses only) Farcaster Cool Drink(if you use your Rathalos set, you should have heat res lo, so you won't need a cool drink) Dragonfell berry(for dragon blight) Max potion/Ancient Potion Whetstones Book of combos 1-2 (for 100% combination of Mega potions) Flash Bombs(to knock Alatreon out of the air) armor charm armor talon power charm power talon (I actually carry these items all the time lol) Items I seldom bring are: Bombs(lrg bb+, bounce bombs, etc.) Stormsender seed(because I rarely get hit by anything electric from Alatreon) Might Seed And items for gunners.
These items are what I find to be the essentials for Alatreon hunts.

| My personal favourites are overforged Agnaktor and Sabertooth (G). It's pretty much the safest set around for fighting Alatreon. I gem out Short Sprinter and with the 5 slots left over (3 in OF Agnaktor and 2 in Sabertooth) I gem in Speed Sharpening. For talismans, I like to use one that gives me Heat Cancel (Lo). Saves time and an item slot. I normally eat Meat+Bran (top 2 and bottom 2 of the first page), which gives me Health+40 and Stamina+50, two very useful skills.
Good food skills: Felyne Defender Felyne Great Break (wings are super-tough for some reason) Felyne Foodie Felyne Firewalker (not very useful, but it helps) Felyne Moxie Felyne Polisher (saves some time if you don't have Speed Sharpening) Ultra/Crazy Lucky Cat (especially Ultra Lucky Cat for extra chances at an Azure Dragongem or other good rewards) Felyne Groomer (if you get this you might as well leave behind the anti-Blight seeds)
I bring: 10 Potions and Megapotions each 10 Herbs, Blue Mushrooms and Honey each (to make more) 10 Dragonfell berries (annoying Dragonblight is annoying) 10 Energy Drinks (Meat takes too long to consume, even with Quick Eating) or if you're feeling extravagant 5 Mega Dash Juices. 20 Whetstones If there's a sleep weapon, be it blade or bowgun, 2 LBB+ 5 Flash Bombs (for Alatreon in airmode or when you REALLY need time to regen) 10 Bomb Material and Flashbugs each (for more Flashbombs) Combo Books 1-5 (I do NOT want to do bad combinations, it wastes a slot and materials. Note that with a Combination Rate talisman you'd need less Combo Books) Max Potions Armour/Powercharm (and if you have spare Deviljho Talons, the Armour/Powertalons as well. A Smoke Bomb may help at the beginning, so you have time to chow down on anything you might need at the beginning (such as drinks).
Notes: Agnaktor+ armour may be a little better, as it swaps Guard Increase for an extra 5 slots and Razor Sharp, totaling 10 slots without the one from gemming out Short Sprinter and with the slots from Sabertooth (G). This means you can gem in, for example, Heat Cancel (Lo) and Speed Sharpening, or as TKMT said, Evade+1 with the help of a talisman.
