1. I'm redoing all my armor sets. Ignoring weapons, e.g. GS with Baggi, how would you tier or group the monsters? Low, Medium, High? Normal, Underwater, Brute, Superfast (Nox/Bari)? Are their any monsters that just need their own set? *cough*Rathalos*cough* Not necessarily. Aiming for skills like Para negate for Gobul or stun negate for Lagi is a waste..kinda...Hmm and the only classification criteria I could come up with would be High Grade Earplugs and Earplugs 2. With Bowguns do you buy your ammo on sale or so you Combine them yourself? What ammo is better to just buy than Combine? Is it better to save Combining material so you can have more bullets on a Quest? Personally, I just buy them and combine during quest. 3. With Bowguns when you bulk restock your ammo about how many stacks of 99 do you aim for? I'll accept "there is never too many" for some types of ammo and would appreciate them being pointed out. Again, personally, I wouldn't stack up any ammo. That usually happen naturally when you come back from a quest and store the items in your pouch to the box.
4. Is it me or does it take longer to solo a quest with a Great Sword having to time things just right? I don't mind, I just need to know if I'm still rusty or if this is the norm. GS is all about timing (I guess?) and sometime you just have to go for the lv2 charge instead of charging a lv3 and getting hit...(I guess)

| Well, I took a two month break, and I felt the same way, mostly on Ceadeus & Barioth. But I just dismissed it mostly as having forgotten how the monsters move. | |

| I don't have access to Vangis, and for the Lagi mixes I should just go for the full set and gem in critical eye +1? | |

| I'd gem in attack up over crit eye, unless your best attack up charm is really bad. | |

My best attack up charm is +5 and no slots, I think I'll go with crit eye for awhile.

Are these good armor sets? And can you think of anything better to do? The first one seems like a decent status sns set, and i cant think of anything atm to improve on it. I'm not sure what you are trying to do with the second set, but you can get higher than AuS if you switch the uragaan legs with lagi ones and use an attack or two slot talisman instead of poison +5. If you do that then it has practically the same skills but with a higher attack bonus. For the third set you should again switch back to lagiacrus parts. With the charm that you listed you can get crit eye +2 by using 2 master and one expert jewel. For the fourth part i would suggest getting rid of the lagiacrus parts and putting rathalos parts back in with a rathalos cap and some expert gems. You may give up razor sharp but you get crit eye +3 and AuL instead of just crit eye +1 and AuS. You can also get heat cancel high. If you want a little bit of extra defence you can use the regular helm, but you will have only be able to get 20 points in one of the skills. For the fifth set it looks like you are trying to make an evade/guard lance set with guard up. I have a set that gives you guard +2, evade +1 and razor sharp, but it requires a godcharm to use it the way i set it up http://divinewh.im/s/1.E_1Z_1f.E_i.E_k.S_1c.S_1A.j.1SYou could also change to agnaktor + armor and get guard +2 and evade +1, and it dosnt require a godcharm, but you would need to give up guard up. Which honestly is only useful against a couple attacks from a couple monsters. Sorry for the late response, i had to leave for a while in the middle of typing this.

I skipped armor sets to get to hr 51 at a reasonable, enjoyable rate. The first armor sets (BLADE MASTER ONLY) that I focused on having were leather armor+/N, quropeco+/N, agnaktar+/N, lagiacrusN(upgrade to high tier), barioth+ (also, get barioth normal if you don't main guard+2 lance), uragaan+, ceadeus+/N, jho+, and jhen+. I didn't upgrade the low tier armors to high tier (except lagiacrus N), till I was rich and got nothing better to make. Baggi seems like a decent set to make for the skill, capture expert. Rathian armor, I didn't make it, but it can be helpful for monsters that deal fire damage. Rathalos seemed useless to me in low tier and high tier. It's difficult to make and it's not worth the time to make it. Uragaan(defense>attack for beginners because of less deaths) and rathian are more efficient to make in terms of cost or time. Also, I like agnaktar armor because I was a main lancer. A armor with good fire resistance is needed for pre-HR51 players. I know this is bias but, a player with full rathalos+ armor usually isn't strong (in terms of equipment/skill) because they spent so much time making that rathalos armor that they didn't spent enough time on making better weapons because they grew tired/bored. Also, at high tier, if you want more damage, start thinking about getting sharpness+1.

| It's a lance, the sharq attack. You can get it in the event quest where you kill 30 sharqs naked. You also need some luddy coins. It's a fairly okay weapon in low rank, especially because you can get it at hr 1 (i think). It doesn't have an upgrade though. | |

| Okay, you're gonna want several armours of course, and mixes. I'll give you some regularly used full sets:
Diablos+ Pierce is great for damage against just about everything. Due to it having only 3 pieces, there's a lot of mixing you can do. You can get alloy+ waist and gobul+ legs for crit eye, get barioth+ for evasion. Above HR 51, you can get the Black leather pants for easy adrenaline, you'll want to get evasion on that too, though. For Pre-HR51 Adrenaline, use barroth+.
Note: It's probably the ugliest armour in the game.
Uragaan+ With recoil down and bombardier, this makes a great stat gun. You can gem in stat attack up, but it's not really important. Just try and concentrate on firing as much status 2 shots and trapping/bombing (get trapmaster).
Note: If you don't get stat attack up, randies will often try to convince you that it's the best skill ever and that you should get it.
Lagiacrus+ One of the two endgame elemental guns (the other being escadora), probably the better one. While element is almost never the best choice for damage, it's still fun, and lagi+ can make it somewhat viable. For gemming, almost everything goes, there's not one skill that is completely superior.
Barioth+ While evasion and evade dist up might be nice, i wouldn't reccomend the full set. You'll be able to get evasion another way (or by using only a few parts), and there's no damage boosting properties on the set. You could gem in some of those, but it's likely easier to get the correct set for those and gem in evasion.

Ontopic: What is your HR? That's pretty important when you want an armour set.
