PostXenoblade Chronicles

It has come to my attention that we do not currently have a miscellaneous Xenoblade thread. THis is unacceptable, so here it is!

Currently, I'm at level 26, just entered satorl marshes. And, I do have one or two questions for those more versed in this game than I:

1. Dunban. Swap him into my main party? If yes, who should he replace?

2. Arts. Which ones are most worth the AP to level up? Bearing in mind I'm only level 26 right now...

I think that's it for now... if I come up with more, I'll post 'em.

THat's why I'm confused. It's from a nopon in Frontier, relating to Alcamoth. :P

This thread is so cool... need to resume this game already... Only up to the lower leg of the Mechonis. (or thereabouts)

If you check the quest log to find the quest there will be a symbol in the corner I think, then check the affinity chart and it has the symbols that relate to teh areas in the world,
or check the affinity chart for that npc, and which area on the affinity chart its in will usuallt be the one the quest raises affinity for.

Okay... now I can't get into the level 90 area in Tephra cave @.@

Apparantly, you have to go to a landmark called 'heavenly window' or something like that, but... the only way I can think of to get there is through the arachno queen's nest, and that waay's blocked off... any tips?

The US gets this game today. As a matter of fact, I have my copy in my sweet little hands. Sadly, I have to go to work and can't play until tonight.

My question to all you EU folks who have played this is Wii-mote vs. Classic Controller: Which do you prefer?

I don't actually own a CC, so I use the wiimote and find that works magnificently. It does pay, being able to select arts on the move in battle.
Andrew.

I don't own a cc either, so I've been using a wiimote, I think think it works pretty fine.

As for the heavenly window, if you warp to Villia lake after the event that spawns all the superbosses and other things (trying not to spoiler) then go to the right and you'll see a path thats now unblocked so just follow that path down there to get there iirc, and it's inhabited by level 92 ish spiders and bunnits i think, not to mention gogols and uniques.

OR, it's from a new path in the spring of grief, but thats a random guess, one of them leads to a warehouse where the unique is, and one path leads to bone corridoor locations which is the correct way.

I... wasn't actually aware you could use it with just a Wiimote. xD Well I can vouch for the CC, works just as well as any other typical controller for an RPG/JRPG like PS2 Final Fantasy for example. Simple, effective and fast.

Is it just me, or am I very under leveled? I see monsters in there lv. 70's and 90's and I'm only at the leg around Colony 6. I beat Xord (or was it Zord) and I still feel very weak. Where's a good place to grind for exp?

Don't worry, you're still on the right track. Lvl 70 is approaching endgame territory, you're not even close.

Thats one of my favourite elements of the game, when walking around you can still come across these monsters 50+ levels higher thatn you, which adds a real fear to exploring giant areas, a great example being Territorial Rotbart, who randomly comes along in the guar plains and 1 hits your party :P

There will be many times in the game when you can see these overleveled uniques around the place, just ignore them till later when you can fight them.

Is it just me, or is there literally no way of getting to the deluded ignas in satorl? Raising affinity should NOT be this much of a bitch.

EDIT for Red frontier. THe google spreadsheet says you can trade for it if Junks is at 5*. Soo... does that mean coloy 6 Junks, or Fallen arm Junks?

I sorta had to fall of of the cliff above it from exile fortress, you can angle the jump right to land in the area you need to follow to get to them.

I seem to now have trouble passing Valak Pass. I keep dying from falling and though I'm level 42, I can't help but feel really intimidated trying to move around the level 96 monsters there. Any good way of navigating that icy area?
Andrew.

Be a bit new specific ^ :P
Which icy bit?

Iirc the boss at the end of valak is level 46-9 I think.

Well, I'm in the Lava Cave of that area and the Dragon-Like creature isn't really being a pain, but the Nebula creatures are interfering so much it's hard to focus on the dragon. It's LV 47, and I'm 42, so would grinding a bit help?

Grinding is always a help ^,^

Just a heads-up, the boss of that area is level 48, so you'll have to grind for that, most likely.
Andrew.

You can take out the nebulas without attracting the big lexos there, and try to lure him into the middle of the land as not to attract the other nebulas, especially the unique, but if he's 6 levels higher then you, then you don't really stand much of a chance :P

I'd only recommend being at least 2/3 levels under story bosses otherwise you're going to run into some trouble, i'd recommend taking out 2 nebulas on the right side (the one the unique nebula isn't) since if moonlight paimon or other nebulas join in it can potentially ruin the fight. And if the bosses tag is red, then you've got about 30% chance of hitting him consistently, which isn't handy.

As for grinding, since enemys don't give enough xp to be grinding efficiently, try going and doing some quests around alcamoth or valak, or frontier village till you're about level 45/6.

I wish to inform you that the boundary for normal attacks missing is a 7 level difference. I also wish to inform you that Melia's Elemental Discharge NEVER misses. I was taking out enemies with 8-10 level differences using her.

oi, anyone know where I can start the quests for the other two things that have to do with giants daring? I'm on my second play through and I had never done this quest before, ?I was locked into the story.

If you mean truth/heart of the giants then the quests are given by:

Lupa in frontier village
A person in the bafalgar tomb
And those nopon in satorl marsh camp

Their all chain quests, and the bafalgar tomb requires beating 97 uniques to complete...

I recently got into xenoblade, and wanted to post about it, so this is a little question:

What team do you like most?

I like using Riki in slot 1, Reyn in 2, and Sharla in 3.

Once Riki gets the heavy armor perk from Reyn through affinity, Reyn will swap with Melia.
