had you asked this when i was young so many people would have answered aerith's death...
i guess for most people it is when characters die.
as for me.. hmmm.... probably ffx ending? whitout all the crap that's been built after it, having all your aeons and tidus vanish into thin air was really bad for the kid-me c_c i think i shed a manly tear there.
if we go off videogames instaed, the even younger me couldn't stand mufasa's death DX
...and backtracking even more... we'd go to the generation where bambi's mother being shot by the hunter made kids cry...
to be honest, neither aerith's death or anything into xenoblade ever came close to the 3 above for me.
I think the saddest moment I had ever felt due to playing a video game is one that even though I do not recall the game the situation and the way I felt about it changed me and made my outlook on life.. different. It taught me that some times, no matter how hard we try, we may never reach our goals. But it also taught me that just because we don't reach them does not mean we should stop trying.
Here's what i remember about playing the game.
I had speant many hours going from level to level and dungeon to dungeon to finally reach the dragon at the end who had taken the princess I had faught so hard to rescue. I dodged and jumped his attacks dying several times and having to replay the level many times even having to start all the way back from the begining until finally I beat him sending him and his evil into the pits of darkness. My character went on to resue the princes but she was not there.. Instead you learn that she was never there, she was in anoth castle!!!!!!
Such a sad sad moment for me...
[15:49:03] @ Win32error : I actually rofled at your mario post
[15:51:13] @ dcj91x : I mean.. I worked so hard.. I put so much time into it. I tried many many times.. finaly got to level 1-4 and to just find out she was gone.. not even there!!!! it was like my soul.. every thing I had done was for nothing!!!
[15:51:20] @ Win32error : Some guy comes to rescue you....and he's disappointed you are not him?
[15:52:08] @ dcj91x : My dreams.. my hopes.. everything.. gone in 6 words!!!!
[15:53:04] @ dcj91x : and then you do that 6 more times with the same results.... each time over and over again having ever fiber of your being torn away from you!
[15:53:54] @ dcj91x : What's the point in going on? why even continue? WHY TRY AT ALL!!!!!!
When i got FF8 and was having such an amazing time playing it, was totally into it, having a blast, wanting to play it all the way. Then come to find the game freezes part way in at a major city that i have to go to and cant get around .. heart was broken DX
sad moment number 1:
On Fable 2, the ending where you had to choose a wish. Doing the right thing and restoring all the lives of those that were lost despite how much i simply adored and loved my dog. I felt so alone in that game afterwards i spent hours just hanging around his tombstone
sad moment number 2:
On Skyrim, when i had to kill Parthuurnaax the good and wise dragon for those stuck up blades, but i did it knowing that the future of the world would need the skill of the blades to pull through. Hated killing that dragon, i sympathized with it so well. v.v
im sure there is others for me but those are the ones i can recall right off the bat
as for me.. hmmm.... probably ffx ending? whitout all the crap that's been built after it, having all your aeons and tidus vanish into thin air was really bad for the kid-me c_c i think i shed a manly tear there..
Oh GOD yes... I love that game... :'|
