What do you want to see in MHU and MHU3DS?

First topic message reminder :

On the back of the news about Monster Hunter Ulitimate for Wii U and 3DS, what features do you want to see implemented?

For me i'd love to be able to transfer my character between the games, as i rarely get to use the TV (thou i believe this is confirmed already) or maybe the option of transferring my Tri character to the new games

New monsters are a given of course, so new armours and weapons would be introduced

I'd also like to see a more open game world, without the segmented areas of previous games

now i'll throw open the discussion to the forum, add your thoughts and comments below

I like to not think about it as a pirate themed weapon though, as it fits with guild armour in Tri just too well.

I love to see (or at least hope) if they bring in new event weps.

Like lets say this forum got enough people to design a few weps & post them. Wouldn't it be crazy to see one of those sketches appear In MHU as a legit weapon

There are links in other posts to all the weapons currently in 3G... but realize that the "Event weapons/Armor" that we get here in the West might not be the same ones as some of the ones in Japan are related to licensing agreements and promotions that may not be related to things here.

For Tri Capcom did a contest of people drawing and desing the event weapons we have in Tri.

I'm personally digging the Great Swords. They all look so awesome, but especially Bracchi's, Gran Miraos's, and Dark Jinouga Stygian Zinogre's!

Nice weapons. I doubt I'll be able to get them all for a while, though.

Anyway, what I personally want is to be able to access the entire game in single player, not just a bit of it, like we could in Tri. The 3DS version does local multiplyer only, doesn't it? Can someone who played the Japanese version tell me whether you could enter the local multiplayer area on your own or not? I believe I read that you could somewhere, but I may be mistaken. Oh well.

The point is, if you can, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to in the localised 3DS version. Which would be good. It does also mean I'd have very little reason to get the WiiU version, though. Oh well.

he finally got the switch axe section complete. Now I can drool at my other favorite weapons... I've also noticed that, save for a select few, most of the switch axes have very tiny auxiliary damage, with values averaging less than 300. I'm guessing this is supposed to make the switch axe more of a raw damage weapon, like great swords.
Also, hell of a lot of paralysis switch axes!

Actually, it seems like elemental & status power went up drastically for Great Swords in 3U, compared to Tri. This makes some sense, since GS hit the least often of perhaps all the weapons... although Bows are pretty slow in their own way. But having huge raw damage & element is only fair if you're not hitting much.

Switch-axes, I think, are a hit-and-run weapon most of the time... Although, SA seems to hit quite often once there is an opening. It's such a free form weapon in that it can be used in so many different ways... some people only use Sword Mode, some in-fight and switch at will (though this takes the most skill, I think), most hit-and-run, like GS.

But yeah, seems like they're trying to emphasize status & raw damage for SA. Very few do any significant elemental damage. That Plesioth Axe with sleep status & power phial seems REALLY interesting, though of course I know sleep element melee weapons are frowned upon somewhat. But they are REALLY FUN!

When it comes to me, I'm one of those people who stands their ground (as a switch axe user, I'm rarely ever running around the monster. I'm always on it, finding a place to attack.) and switches between axe and sword mode, sometimes mid-combo. It depends on the switch axe though (ie. if it has a power phial, I'm going to spend more time in sword mode.), the monster I'm fighting (Agnaktor= Sword Mode 24/7!), and even what the monster's doing (if it's knocked down, I generally try to time a sword burst just as it's getting back up- almost always staggers it, if not outright knock it back down again!). It also depends on what part of the body I'm attacking: If it's the tail, I'm using axe mode all the way. If it's the legs, it's sword mode. Head's a bit different... It depends on what phial I have (and if there's already a hammer or great sword already pummeling it...)
Anyway, I guess I don't have a problem with them restructuring the switch axes, since I use them for the raw output anyway. As far as status goes, I personally don't see a point. But then, switch axes can hit pretty fast when you know what you're doing with them... Perhaps I'll give them a try come March.
And I've been ogling the great swords and their stats like a New York construction worker for awhile now. God, those things look amazing!

If nothing else, I'm just glad they doubled the number of axes you can use. It was so frustrating that there were so few to even use in Tri.

So many weapons, I want them all!
