| First topic message reminder :- once again, no online for 3DS version - Tri servers will be shut down eventually - didn't want to shut them down until players could move onto a new game - most likely will not be able to transfer Wii save to 3DS or Wii U - uses Nintendo's servers for online - not sure on regional servers yet - Capcom USA waiting on Wii U builds to play - no word on transferring Japanese 3DS save to the NA 3DS build - highly unlikely that 3DS will get online - shouldn't be any differences in content between the two games Araujo on the long time it takes to localize Monster Hunter game… “No, we don’t enjoy seeing you suffer… Localization is just one of those things that takes time and a lot of strategy. For one, it’s not just translation. Plus, we wanted to deliver a title that had full online multiplayer integration (Wii U), and that took a lot more development. But now we can offer you MH3U on the Wii U, with HD graphics, online, save-sharing with the 3DS version… that’s all awesome stuff – but it all takes time.” Svensson on additional Wii U support… - subtle differences in feature set of Ultimate from the original Japan release of 3G - no official bundles in states - may feature soft bundle purchase option within the Capcom Store Source: http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=185599it was all copy pasted: not by me

| Slightly off topic here, but just something about what dcj said a few posts back about console lifespans: - Spoiler:
they SHOULDN'T last 7 years, the latest generation is an aberration on the console lifespan graph. Orginially you could get a new console of decent quality every 1-2 years, this lasted for about two decades. Then the GC, PS2 and Xbox lasted for 3-6 years depending on where you lived, and then the WiiStation 360 generation ate up just as much time, if not MORE than the last one. Consequently, all competition console-wise was mortally wounded with the PS2, and killed with the Xbox. That's why the games haven't improved graphically in 3 years-there's just no more ways to use the hardware available any better.
Getting on topic here, I had heard about Tri a good 2-3 years ago now. I happened upon it in the used game section of an EB Games. I bought it that day, some time last year now. My first personal buy for the Wii and best purchase I made. I kinda realized the servers were slowly dying, as I've never seen more than 3,800 people across ALL rooms in the US servers at any given time while there is just so much wasted space there. I'm probably going to wait to see what the major issues are beFORE I ask for/buy a WiiU, backwards compatibility notwithstanding. Tri has had her run, and 'twas a good one. Time to lay her to rest I think.

| Though I'm sad to see Tri's online go, Ultimate is enough to make my sadness evaporate and not care anymore. :3
I'm looking forward to Ultimate. I'm hoping in-game communications are greatly improved online.

HA! my 1st wii lasted from release date up to august last! & it only died cuz our entire house blew out in a lightning strike! TAKING CARE OF YOUR CONSOLES FTW!!! :D and concerningnthe rest of what you said, tri will never be put to rest. Tri was one of the titles that made the wii be taken seriously & not just for its otion style games & trademark charactor appearences. All good games never die. If that was the case people wouldn't still have their retro-mania's & keep games like the old school '80-'90 classics still alive. So tri never will loose her run, new game or not

- 1.)Also keep in mind not everyone is getting MHU right off the bat. not everyone is fortunate to be able to pick up a $300 (as an example price) console andd a $50 game. Hell i have to save now just to get this thing. Some people only have the opportunity to get it from birthdays/christmas IF lucky. and then there are thise who simple just want to keep playing tri for whatever reason.
2.)Not everyone may even be aware of the serverse shutting down. Go online and ask a gate "who keeps up with MH news?" and really see how many people do. So yes, the deactivation of the servers is a big thing to some people. 1.)First, and Very Kindly, man, Your financial angst issues with getting the soon-to-be new system and game are a lil off-putting. It has been my xp, that if you want something badly enough, you can and will find a way to obtain it. So attempting to lay a guilt/hate trip on others who are preparing to acquire these things will do little more for you than alienating yourself. 2.) I completely agree with you on the 2nd part. This is evident in the amount of noobs who have played 50 or more HRs and obviously haven't done any research on even the elementary basics of weapons, armors, armor skills, and general hunting, let alone any advanced concepts. This is absolutely baffling to me bc it is a game where very little is explained, and there are complex and complicated concepts employed that can only be understood by doing some research. The damage formulas for example. Anyone who has done no research is going to be all but clueless as to optimal setups, techniques, and their own proper role in the beatdown. It will be a sad and disappointing time for those morons when that fateful day comes. Theres a healthy number of them too! I can't count how many wet-behind-the-ears hunters I see each week. Directly On Topic: Tri has been an extremely fun game. One of the best I've ever played! When the Tri servers close, assuming March-April 2013, that'll be 3 years of Tri-ing for free, no less. As sad as I'll be when they do close, I won't be able to complain. It's been a helluva good run. And from the sounds of it, U will be a good replacement, and then far more.

Excuse me, but "first and kindly" I would love to know who you think you are to just say something in foul taste concerning my "financial angst". 1st off lets get this straight to satisfy your ignorant standpoint: I'm not planning on getting the WiiU/MHU. Why? lool well cause I have other more important things I want "badly enough that I can find a way to obtain it". Seeing if I really wanted it i can easily just walk to the store & pick it up, your argument about "angst" is invalid. As for your guilt/hate trip; well clearly you should read around other threads. For other people have said they won't be able to get both console/game immediately. So I suggest you be a sport and do your homework before you go trying to bash on something someone post that you blindly mistake facts for "angst". 'Cause, Y'Know, that'll get you alienated one day.

| ^ Please don't take anybodys opinions personally.. they are just opinions... And it's the internet and an open forum no reason to get upset...
THAT GOES FOR EVERYONE!!
2ndly
Game systems come and go, the prices of some will be more fair than others a lot of it depends on "what you like" and "what you can afford". It does not matter if someone else can get it and you cant...
The good thing about MH3U is that it is on 2 seperat (but compatable) systems at 2 seperate price points...
Yes ones online and ones not but the good thing is if you are able to afford the cheaper system, Say a $169 3DS and a $39.99 copy of the game or even get the system for christmas and save up for the game you can play that solo.. or local multiplayer until later on when you can afford the more exspensice system and game...
If you want..
But in no way should you get upset over what people think.. We all se things differently and have our own veiws.. we might missunderstand or make suggestions but it should all be taken as that.. suggestions and an individuals thoughts not them trying to tell you what you should or should not do or anything else...
Just a suggestion ;)

Well, "Firstly and Kindly", I am JFizzle, your friendly neighborhood hunter. Who I think I am is beyond the topic of discussion. And "Foul Taste" had nothing to do with it. You put it out there for everyone, bro, several times. You can't expect anyone to feel bad for you bc you're not looking for a way to afford these things, and whining about it to boot. Hope that answers your question, and that you are glad to know. Also, there's no need to get hostile, man. The only point that I was trying to make, was that I had read a number of posts of yours that were whining complaining about the initial costs of the new console and title. To clarify my "Ignorant Standpoint", If YOU are not planning on buying the new setup, then I might suggest that You stop whining about the price, etc. On the Guilt/Hate Trip, I understand that point, but guess what They are not doing, that You are? They are not whining about it repetitiously, or making pointed statements directed at those who are planning on getting it. But w/e man.
