| My goal is to hit HR999 with my best friend, some playtime as a duo, some with other friends. It's gonna be a Hell of a long road, but every second will be fun!
Also, I'm hoping to take my hunting to the next level and become the best that I can possibly be! With a huge collection of Great Sword's and Switch-Axe's at my disposal!
I'm even looking forward to Dual-Swords, Gunlance, Hunting Horn and the Bow! /yes/

I hope so, I didn't even get the brunt of HR related abuse, but I'm still sick of it.

Nope, it works on tri's, been watching Iceman vids and he definitely mentions unlocking quests at HR 80 and other very high numbers, maybe it will only go to 100, that'd be nice.

On the wiki, I read about Guran-Miraosu and it said it was the quest to unlock HR 8 or something in G and Ultimate. God, I am GLAD of that, I do not want the HR abuse rolling in again.

| Max Level Up the Royal Ludroth/+ blade-master armor, grab a Hunting Horn, go to a random city, join a quest, and have a Jam Session for the remainder of a quest.
Yeah... that sounds nice...

| Since seeing this topic the other day, I've actually been thinking about what I'd want to choose as my goal for the upcoming games... and I'm not 100% sure. I'll probably try to use Dual Swords more often than other weapons, and I can certainly say that I'd really like to perfect my collection in MH3U by going for everything, like I'll likely be unable to do with Tri, before they close the servers.
Another personal goal would be to register each monster I encounter for the first time, if registration of monsters is done the same way as in Tri; I went without registering Diablos and Uragaan for the longest time, and even then, there were a few small monsters that I neglected to add, such as Kelbi, Ludroth and Felynes.
I guess another couple goals would be to fight the monsters I wasn't able to before, because they were exclusive to Japanese-Only titles until the release of MH3U in March. (or hopefully, sooner) I'd like to get all the equipment for the 'flagship' monster of the game, too; Brachydios.
I just wish we didn't have to wait all the way until March for it, when CAPCOM are bringing it to Japan for Christmas. Considering how much Monster Hunter they've had between Tri and this, it just doesn't seem fair to the fans in the west.

Using a greatsword isn't all that hard, imo. The two biggest mistakes I see people make are A) they walk around with their greatsword out, and B) they're indoctrinated into thinking using the block is a bad thing, or don't even know they CAN block with a greatsword. (I know dodging is a much better option than blocking, but I see people who refuse to block when they're in a situation where they won't be able to evade in time, all because "it's not as good as evading/it ruins sharpness," or whatever they say.) Also, I never played the earlier Monster Hunters, so I don't have any horror stories about Plesioth. However, I'm sure that they've fixed his hitboxes in this game! As long as you know the monster's attack patterns pretty well, there's really not a whole lot to GS'ing properly. Get an armor set with Focus and a damage skill, watch monster for opening, charge GS at tail or weak hitzone, rinse and repeat until limping or dead. @Anduin: I have to disagree. The 2 biggest mistakes I see in the use of the GS are 1.) Using the infinite combo. Seriously, if you're going to use it like this, get a LS. 2.) Consideration or use of elemental GS's. Anguish P is King of GS's in Tri. It's too slow for element to matter, I snuggled my pig, so other arguments are invalid. As far as Block Vs. Evade for GS use. I feel that that depends on your own personal skill level with the weapon. I personally prefer evade, but that is well justified with over 400+ HR's on GS. While blocking is a viable option for the GS, they bleed sharpness from even a minor hit, so a failed Evade when a block may have been effective, might not be as bad of a choice as you would think. Afterall, the GS's focus is very high damage bursts. If you're having to sharpen every minute or so due to blocking, then your damage output would be significantly reduced. But then again, it comes down to skill level too. On Topic: I only have 1 goal for MH3U, right now: I'm with Vortiene. I will get my Tea-Bagger's Achievement, again. All Ranks, All Mobs, and even some very unfortunate colleagues who happen to cart close enough to me.

Guess Im gonna go for the Barrioth armor as main priority as that's my favorite piece of equipment from Tri.

Sadly, there is no Stellar Hunter gem. The ONLY way to get Stellar Hunter is wearing Guran Miraosu's armor. (I won't say Gran Miraos, because we all know that Capcom's on a roll taking the names we THINK they're going to use and throwing them out the second story window...) At least, that's assuming the monster hunter armor generator site is correct. But they do show that you can get a charm with Edge Master on it... (It only goes up to +3, though... :/ ) [EDIT] This site also shows no signs of an Edge Master gem. [LAST EDIT (i swear...)] This seems to be the only way of getting Stellar Hunter without using the entire set. Good Luck getting this particular set, though...

Sadly, there is no Stellar Hunter gem. Ah well, I managed to make this set here, as my ultimate goal, cause I know I want the entire Quru-Z set without mixing and matching. Hopefully I can find that charm, or at the very least just the +10 flute without the slots.
