| I never remembered Tri's community being so abusive back when it first came out. I remember people helping one another and trying to improve together, but all that seems to be gone now.
I've recently been farming the Alatreon for Webbings, and within the last hour I've encountered at least 3 people who were just plain malicious.
1. Entered a city with two gunners, who appeared to be clusting. As soon as I joined I was told I had ten seconds to get ready for the quest, or they'd leave without me. Sure, we killed the Alatreon really quick and broke the wings, but it was not an enjoyable experience. 2. I entered a second city with a HR 600 or so gunner. I told him what I needed, and he set up an Alatreon quest for us both. We set out, and he killed the Alatreon in 3 seconds, and broke all areas without even firing a shot. I got some webbings in the rewards, but I sold them, since I want to earn my gear, and hacking for it is just wrong. 3. My final attempt was with another HR 600 gunner, who proceeded to spam "CLUST OR LEAVE!!!!!" at me as soon as I entered the city. As soon as she saw my sleepbombing set, she swore at me until I left. This one I found the most disturbing.
The Monster Hunter I know and love is groups of people working hard to make progress and get the items they want. I certainly don't want to play with a bunch of elitists and hackers who completely ruin the point of the game. What's happened to everyone? And have you ever met people like this?
*Also, is it possible for 2 clust gunners to kill an alatreon in 4 minutes? I want to know if my first two webbings are legit or not*

I'm just glad my two webbings are legit ^^ It is a shame though, I think people that are that 'perfect' must play an awful lot, and probably waste an awful lot of time on the game :S

| Most of the decent people have likely moved on, though you may get lucky and find someone worth a damn.
That or you could try some forumers, Iunno. Don't even know who still plays here anymore.

| The thing is... good people (good people is not the same as good players) are mostly on friends only citys and maybe solo. founding someone good in the wild is really hard. At least in the US servers | |

| To be completely honest, the die-hard clusting groups have never been very nice. The "Clust or GTFO" cities have been there ever since i started playing.
Haven't noticed much difference in the behaviour of other players, maybe some are a bit more demanding due to a higher level of experience.

| So far I have only encountered 2 out right rude people. Rest of the time it's been hit or miss. Just recently I started to go online and most of the people so far seem to just pull of rude acts. Such as super pounds, spamming spirit combos. I was lancing and in one group it was so bad I stopped fighting and just used my healing horn. Every time I'd run up I would get off a hit or two and get tripped. High rank people jumping into hunts with low ranks and they just take over. Even if a low rank is in the right spot doing good damage and surviving they still launch a super pound or trip because "I'm higher rank I do more"
Only 2 out right rude people so far was a mooch second an l337arse. Was a Agnaktor hunt and the person ran off and spent the whole hunt mining -.- just to run up last min for a hit or 2 then carve. I wanted the carves also so I carved what I could then upslashed the guy. Denied him 1 or 2 carves.
I don't know about the golden days of Tri but I do know rude people exist everywhere. Theory would be most hardcore decent people have moved on or play in friends only. Some are hacking because they believe they are helping. I agree though, it isn't helping by hacking you don't learn.

| Yeah the US server is filled with those type's too and its the main reason i avoid clust gunners like the plague that they are. MH3U cant come soon enough.
If you were on the U.S. server I would've gladly helped but anyways you dont really need gunners to break Ala's wings. Just find a group of decent blademasters and attack the wings every time he falls. Charging the wings with Sabretooth G probably works best but other weapons like Nardebosch, Tenebara D and Anguish with an offensive set work well too.You can also bring some Bounce bombs for insurance.

| Sounds like your average Alatreon city(well, this is average to me).
This attitude makes me avoid any Alatreon city with two or more gunners in it.

I think I have never been in an ala with a gunner who is not clusting or sb. but yeah... also, I feel that many people are misinfrormed when it comes to ala. Today I heard: The Skypiercer cant be obtained if the ala is stuck, ala horns can only be destroyed by bombs, ala cant be killed by less than 4 ppl, smoke bomb HAS to be use at the begining of the fight, If you dung a flying ala it returns to the ground, It can only be flashed if you are on top of the walls, water is the best option against ala, Ala cant be poison, etc. The weirdest thing is that people say this like its true, just like asking a kid if santa is real.

sounds like some people can't attack the horns properly... - Lalo wrote:

I hear that a lot with all monsters. - Lalo wrote:

Sounds legit. - Lalo wrote:

Hmm... Well, some water weapons are pretty good for Alatreon.. - Lalo wrote:

Reminds me of one time where one person was talking about how Alatreon Revolution was the Best Great Sword of them all(in power) because it has the most sharpness. Telling him otherwise made him so hostile...

| Water is Alatreon's main weakness, at least on land, and I think he still takes damage from it in midair?
And I've seen a couple of videos of youtube of people soloing Alatreon, one with GS and another with Hammer. Oh, and did I mention that they both broke both horns?
The Smoke Bombs are just to get to the ledge without Alatreon spotting you.

| Water is a secondary weakeness on land it's primary is ice but some water weapons are just better at dishijg out damage.
Also kit if you can find a decent enough hammer user I can break it's wings with longsword for you if it's no problem for you.

It's not hard to break the horns by yourself... It's usually only one person going at them even in a 4 person group.

It's not hard to break the horns by yourself... It's usually only one person going at them even in a 4 person group. even then you can get the horns pretty easily without the help. yea I prefer 2 people pounding at the horns, but even I can break them with a GS on my own and I utterly hate doing ala .-.

| So, this went from being about the terrible, vocal minority of the community to Alatreon tips'n'trix.
huh.
Anyway, whenever I stumble into a Clust or GTFO city I don't ever seem to connect in the first place, but I HAVE been with a hacker who did so much damage to the Jhen Moron that we went into the showdown af.ter only 5 minutes. Then, he killed it outside of the map so we couldn't carve.
That was my 3* urgent, by the way. /mad/

Well, the discussion about clust citys is usually most apparent with ala, so. Like when's the last time you walked into a peco *cough flamboyant duck COUGH* and someone went "clust gunning or **** off " But lool best jhen gun hacking I've ever seen was this kid who got us to final showdown in 2 mi utes. Then he makes a giant arrow pointing from base to jhen made out of bombs and nuked his ass XD and will I wasn't really referring to 2 hammers on alas horns just 2 people period. Lool cuz I usually GS-Adren whenever I/a friend need horns so I never really have to worry about 3-stooges-hammering.

| I'm sorry to hear that your experience sucked. I'm trying to get myself some webbings too, and I'm resorting to ice lance w/ mind's eye on the wings. 4 kills, 1 webbing. I'm going to be doing this forever, and I wouldn't mind running w/ some non-jerks (most ppl I run into are friendly). | |
