A Bone Tomahawk (to be upgraded with Rathian parts)
A Royal Claw
Tusk Gear

Lance:

Rampart

Switch Axe:

Bone Axe +

Long Sword:

Ananta Boneblade

Advice on what I should wear to fight either one would also be appreciated - I do not mind farming a monster.

Apart from Giant Jawblade being upgradable online easily enough to the best pre-endgame greatsword, High Sieglinde P, the armour itself is pretty cool. I like to gem in Earplugs, Fire Res +15, and Health+50, but you can also gem in a C skill and have enough space for one other skill (including Earplugs, without DP if you use a weapon/talisman slot).

Now to the question I say you should go with rathian because of your lack of status weapons since you are only going with the low rank version I suggest gemming in earplugs and getting rid of demonic blessing.

You are asking about quest priority, not armor sets, right?

I would just go with whatever monster gets you materials for the next weapon upgrade. First time on each monster?
