firstly i am a playing my first runthrough of the game and currently on 4* quest what is the best armour and wepon to get at present i am using a mix and match armour ov gobul jaggi ludroth rhen armour plus using a switch second bone upgrade ? i am trying to get the full barroth armour and switch axe weapon so how many times do i need to farm barroth to get the full armour and weapon ??
second question what monsters are there that i dont face offline i know of 3 jhen morran , altrerion , deviljho any more monsters ??
third whats the best tips i can be given for fighting barroth and jaggi in the same quest or any other monster doubles on the same quests ??
fourth the areana offline are the monsters harder in the areana than the story ?? cause i seem to find them a little more difficult than the story mode ones ??
fifth whats the best way to prepare for fighting monsters that can be very tricky and hard to handle i have read alot of people watch the behavior of big monsters but i seem to learn by them by fighting them more ??
sixth is it true that you can fight a monster like barroth hard but then fight gobul and find him easy ??
1: it depends on what materials you need to get from him how many times you'll have to fight him. Breaking his head with a hammer, or cutting his tail with any cutting weapon is a good idea, and capturing the monsters tends to increase the chance if getting rarer items in rewards.
Also the switch axe is by no means a keeper when it comes to weapon choice. Lances, hammers, great swords, even the good ole' sword and shield are very reliable weapons. And the Barroth switch axe will give you negative affinity anyways, which can sometimes greatly reduce the amount of damage your attacks do. Barroth armor I have never used, but the way I played, querapeco armor was pretty much the best armor you could get until later in the game, when You unlocked rathian and rathalos armors.
2: that's all of the monsters you only fight online, all if the rest are right able offline, but there are a few you aren't required to fight (gigginox, diablos, agnaktor) but online, there is the addition of high rank, which offers all of the monsters again, but they will be more challenging to fight, and will have alternative armor sets you are able to forge.
3: if you throw a couple of dung bombs at a monster, you can cause the monster to flee from the area. Dung bombs can be made by combining stones and ivy (which gives you a bomb material) then combining that with dung. Also, I highly recommend the spiral lance for fighting Barroth, I don't remember exactly which weapon it comes from, but I assure you you can find it easily on the wiki (I would find it for you but I'm posting from mobile and the wiki isn't always mobile friendly)
4: the monsters aren't any more powerful than offline monsters, having to choose preset armor and items can make it just a bit more difficult to fight them. It's a good chance to learn how to use different weapons though!
5: it depends on the monster you're fighting. There are plenty of guides on the wiki, and if you prefer a visual guide, many YouTube channels such as iCEMANnoob and SocialDissonance have in depth video guides for probably every monster.
6: it depends on the person, but anything is possible :D
