Soooo... In reviewing the weapon trees, I have noticed that there are usually around 2 different trees for each element and status. The top tiers have comparable but still varying amounts of Physical and Element/Status Damage between the separate trees.

IMO, the choice between status weapons will always favor the weapons that have a higher status attribute, as nearly any status set is designed for that express purpose.

The topic that I am curious about is the choice between the elemental weapons. What would be the reason for favoring higher Physical Damage over Elemental Damage, or a Higher Elemental Attribute for less Physical Damage? Obviously this will matter more to certain weapon classes than others.

Assuming that the particular elements are matched against the Mobs that are weak to them, and that we are only considering top-tier end-game weps when would one be preferred over the other, and why?

I dunno, but I went with a Narga Swax with pure raw. Combined with power phial, natural 30% affinity then boosted to 60% with crit+3, latent power procs boosting that to 90%, and a huge amount of raw and natural purple sharpness, it's sooooo good.

Also I sent you a PM, lets hunt sometime.

That sounds like a pretty potent setup dude.

I'm about midway through HR, both Village and Port. Trying to systematically complete each quest to access supplies, equipment, and foods. I can't wait to reach the top of G-Rank! I plan on farming Jho for equipments and monies as soon as he is available.

I'll accept your request as soon as I leave work tonight.

From a damage outpoint stand point it's the most potent swaxe set up in the game. So I guess I'l semi-answer your question by telling you all the best endgame bows and LBGs since those are my thing, I don't really know enough about the other weapon types to fully answer you though. I can tell you though that raw> elemental when picking between two weapons of the same element.

Bows
Dragon- Altheos Incanonis-Don't use load up with it, it makes it weaker.
Lightning- Acrus Whitebolt-Honestly you're better off going pure raw or slime than you are using a lightning bow.
Water- Aquasteed Harp-This bow is garbage without load up, with load up it's a beast.
Fire- The Rysurrection
Ice- Amber Arc Valanga
Raw- Eclipse Bow or Cera Cyclord with a super specialized set that requires a Power C+ +10 talisman.
Slime- Xx420slimeKelbiBowxX

Light Bowguns
Willuminator- Rapid Fire Flaming S and Dragon S
Nether Phloxion- Rapid Fire Thunder S
Diamond Crest- Rapid Fire Freeze S
Jade Tempest- Rapid Fire Water S
Ballista Demolisher- Rapid Fire Flaming S and Slime S (I choose this in favor of willuminator for ice monsters that aren't Glacial Agnaktor if my team mates are using slime weapons)
God's Archipelago- MR. TORGUE GOD DAMNED APPROVES OF THIS GUN, EXPLOOOOOOOOOOOOSIOOOOOOONSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and it's a pretty tits status gun.
