I think we both just misunderstood PAiN. He was saying that the head being weak to thunder is weak, but hitting it with the thunder element with a bow isn't going to be effective. Reason being, the only way to get the thunder element to hit it with all of the shots of a bow is to use one with rapid, and all of those bows are junk.
Yep. Kelbi RF will out do any Thunder bow against Styg Zin.

I actually over-prepared myself for "Bye-Bye Bloom". First time doing it, I used pretty much all my potions and dungbombs...and this time I only had to use a Max Potion and three dung-bombs. Although that was probably because I broke Peco's beak early-on and managed to knock him over or flinch him most of the time when he tried calling Jho over.

My Kayamba got me a Jasper the last time I did a G rank Zinogre (He stole it using the that one mask that allows him to steal carve-able stuff). And then I do a "Hunt Two Green Nargacuga" quest with my brother, and he gets a Mantle. Just what I needed. :D

I've been playing a lot of MH3U lately offline with a friend. Been showing him the true way to use the GS. We duo'd Clashing Fists in about 39 minutes LOL. Still haven't duo'd Cruel King but we will soon. Also tried doing some speed run videos with Adrenaline+2 and Great Swords. I may upload one of our attempts u_u

Cha-Cha with the Mock Melynx got me a Jasper once. X3 It let me upgrade my Zin LS (which is a strong-enough weapon to kill Ceadeus in one round). (I actually got a Narga Medulla shortly after from the Arzuros-Narga-Zinogre mission. Not to mention the Narga was a Silver Crown.)
AND. So I was doing "Troubled Waters", since both Plessie and Lagi have lowered health and are therefore easier to take down. I was aiming to catch Lagi to heighten the chance of me getting a Sapphire, but I ended up having to kill it. Though I was positive I wouldn't get one, I got a Sapphire anyways. (Reverse Psychology!) Now I just need two plates, and I'll have all the rare junk I need to get the I.Lagi armor when I get around to that.

My brother (Currecntly HR 7) just got the God's Archipelago yesterday... Ugh, I still haven't gotten it! And I've spent hundreds of more hours doing G rank quests than him. :/ Oh well.

Well, this wasn't something I did, but rather my sister: She just solo'd the double-Brachy G-rank mission in about 30 minutes. And one of them was a gold crown for small.

Well, after sitting on HR 7 for God knows how long, I finally did every key quest and did the Dire Miralis urgent. My accumulated HRP then skyrocketed me up to HR 50.

I'm currently sitting at one HR(Forgot the number lol) and haven't been doing anything but farming Rathian for her Armor. I gave upon that because getting the Mantle is a pain(though the first run I ever did with G rank Rathian I got Mantle from the tail without even trying..). Recently did that Green Flash quest.

That reminds me of acouple days ago when I needed to upgrade this rusty gunlance that I found mining. Needed one more Conqueror's Seal so I did one of those three monster quests that give them out. This one had a Arzuros, Rathian and Duramboros. I got a Rathian Mantle I have no use for in the rewards.

Rare things tend to appear when you're not looking for them.
Edit: once again, something my sister achieved: she solo'd Alatreon, on the mission "Where Gods Fear to Tread". With 10 seconds left. She'd just fainted, and Kayama bombed it in the Felyne Mask.

Been charging through 8* Moga, been pretty easy so far, though I have double carted like 3 times already. The thought of fighting Brachy scares the living shit out of me, though. :P

I've fought Brachy so many times that the same thing keeps happening everytime. He runs away to the big area in the Volcano(forget what area it is, the biggest orange one, lol) I pretty much break all his Slime, he falls over twice, third time his tail breaks, after the third time, I stagger him, make him fall again, get Cha-Cha to place pitfall, he falls in, I give him a good beating, then he limps away. Then I cap him. :D
But anyways, I'd say Longsword is a good weapon to use against him. I used the Waserfellis(I think that's how you spell it..?) from the Ludroth path.

Just be sure to use a water-element weapon. I personally have only used Longswords and Dualswords, so my recommendations would be the Barbarian Blade or the Plesioth Cutlasses (I think that's what they were called).

Yes! I finally (After 500+ hours of G rank quests, counting all of my characters) got the God's Archipelago. Finally! I'm so happy. Now I just got to get some speed running techniques down.
I saw Antari had a post on a topic awhile ago. He gave 12 steps I could kinda follow to use. I've tried those and I'm having fun with it.
Those steps are good, but in case I'm not doing very well. This is what I do. If something I do could be improved, please let me know. I want to be awesome with it.
First off, I'm using the Load Up, Status Attack +2, Recoil Down +2 set with the limiter removed, and with a silencer attached.
Okay, so I start off by loading everything, and then I sleep the monster with my 3 shots of Sleep Lvl 2. I then reload my sleep shots as the monster falls asleep (I'm going to start combining more at this point too, but I often forget). I then place two BBL+, switch to my Para Lvl 2 shots, and detonate the bombs. After the monster wakes up, before it can move, I paralyze it. I then switch to my Slime S and shoot 3-4 shots into the monster (I don't always do it since some monsters require more than 4 Slime S shots to get it to go off. And I don't think it does much good unless it actually goes off). Then I use my Clust Lvl 3, switch to Crag Lvl 3, and knock it out. I'll use Crag lvl 2 as well if it's necessary. But I'm actually not that good yet to do that. :p Once it's KO'd, I'll use 3 sleep shots on it, put the gun away, and use a shock trap on it (I'm bad at that part too, and it usually doesn't get stuck in the trap right off). Once it's in the shock trap, I finish my Clust Lvl 2 and Clust Lvl 1. Then I switch to my Sleep Lvl 2, reload that, and sleep it (It gets out of the trap and can get some moves off due to me not being able to reload my Sleep Lvl 2 fast enough). Once I sleep it, I place two BBL and bomb it. I also load up everything during this time. Once I detonate the bombs, I place out a pitfall trap and trap it. While it's in the trap, I shoot my remaining five Para Lvl 2 shots and it gets paralyzed while it's still in the trap (I should combine at least one more Para Lvl 2 shot sometime before I shoot the other 5, since some monsters require more than 5 shots I think). Once it's paralyzed, I place my remaining bomb and throw the tranqs, detonating the bomb and capturing it.
All of this is done with a buddy or two that should be shooting it the whole time.
So like I said earlier, I'm sure there are lots of things that can be improved. If anyone else sees this that does stuff like this, I'd love to know what they do. And make sure you mention when you load your gun, combine your shots, etc..
