Palico xp is based on the monster and difficulty. For a good idea of what amount of xp you are likely to get, check out the reward screen after an quest/expedition. The higher the reward on that particular monster, the more xp it grants your Palico.

| I am not sure about the Star Knight Set... I am pretty sure that one is from a hack of an already available Japanese quest. This video shows what is available today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdcO4RG0XSY#t=86Available stuff from today's DLC are: Hunter equipment: - Metroid's Varia Suit - Metroid's Zero Suit - Metroid's Arm Cannon - Taiko Drum Master Hunting Horn - USJ's Star Rook armor - USJ's Starlight Axe Charge Blade Palico equipment: - Mega Man - Blanka - Chun-Li - USJ's F Star - Cha-Cha - Kayamba Credit to Thomas Whitehead from Nintendo Life. | |

From there, anyone who goes on the quest with you can get the armour.
Implying one doesn't actually need to hack to obtain the quests required for it. And if they're not actually doing anything else besides rerouting where they download event quests, what premise do I have to kick people from my city if they don't actually hack? So what I'm trying to get straight here is that if there's still monster quests not available via the above method, if it's actually doable without hacking and if yes, which ones so I could differnate between the hackers and non-hackers.

So what I'm trying to get straight here is that if there's still monster quests not available via the above method, if it's actually doable without hacking and if yes, which ones so I could differnate between the hackers and non-hackers. Any method of obtaining content outside of the normal methods is considered hacking. It is up to the individuals and their own conscious to either justify it, or ignore it. 1Bighickup and I disagree on what is hacking, as from his comments I can deduce "hacking" for him means having unfair advantages, like controlling monster behavior, talismans with impossible skill obtained through code tampering, or stats not possible by any means in the game. To me, hacking means going around an established means to obtain something not intended by the programmers. And since the programmers have not yet intended for the release of certain content, getting said content means you are hacking. And running said content, while not being the one who hacked to get it, means that you are obtaining hacked information, and while are not per say a hacker, have benefitted from a hack done by someone else. Now, please reread what I said, and notice that in no time am I judging whether or not people who obtain or run said content are in any way evil, or doing wrong or what-not. It is THEIR CONCIOUS that determines that. Like I said in a prior post, nitpicking what is or isn't a cheat is not what this is all about. Either you are doing things the way the programmers intended, or you are "cheating"... aka going around, or using a shortcut not sanctioned by those who made the game. If you are ok with it, more power to you. If I host a room and I see you wearing something not yet released, or tweaked beyond the specs of the game, you will be kicked, since you will now be affecting MY game. What you do on your own time with your own game, I don't care.

Wait, what do you mean "you will now be affecting MY game"? Do you mean that they will be affecting it with their good skills, or with their looks? I doubt it's because of their looks, which means it must be because of their skills. If that's the case, then perhaps you should kick someone whenever they join with the skills Honed Blade and Challenger +2, since they could easily "affect" your game by killing the monster pretty fast. Somehow I think you need to rephrase that. I don't think it's them affecting your game, it's just that fact that they (in your eyes) hacked to get their armor that makes you dislike them which leads to them getting kicked. EDIT - I was referring to people using the Star Knight armor by the way.

EDIT - I was referring to people using the Star Knight armor by the way. I'ma post on this issue before this spirals into a heated argument. If he wants to kick someone out wearing White Fatalis or Star Knight gear that's his choice and should be respected. I personally do this myself as I don't wanna play with people who feel the need to consume all the content and cheat to get the Japanese DLC. I myself am especially salty with White Fatalis stuff, I'd LOVE to have White Fatty and fight it again, but he's not out here legitimately so we have to wait. If someone wants to hack for private stuff, there's nothing that can be done on that, but we here on the Monster Hunter Wikia Forum frown upon such activities. Also discussing people hacking and how it affects us is fine but under no circumstances is the "how to" hack onto Japanese DLC list allowed to be posted. If yall wanna continue the discussion and its heated path then move to the Complaint thread or the Speak your mind thread please.

Also how do might seed and might pill work on this game? Last time I used those was on tri, where might pill extended the might seed uptime. Now I'm not so sure. Then how do demondrug and such stack with food, if they do stack?

Demondrugs and Mega Demondrugs both last till you faint, and don't stack with your food attack boost. I'm not sure about Demondrugs, but I'm pretty sure that Mega Demondrugs do the same amount of attack as Attack Up "L" from food boosts. @Phazon: I was just pointing out that Sephastus made it sound like they ruined his experience because of their skills or something.

| So i am looking for some helpful advice on some of the new weapons in this game. I have yet to really try anything new as i have stuck to Hammer as i grind my way up into G Rank (currently HR 6 i think and completed all of caravan available).
My weapon preference in games past has been Hammer/LS/Bow/HBG/Lance and then all else. Any thoughts on which weapon for the charge blade and IG are good for me to make and try given where i am at this point? Also any recommend armor sets to get started with? I have full Garuga S, Nercylla S, and Velocidrome S.

I've personally never used it but I have a basic enough grasp of what it can do to recommend it to you (i.e: watched like 2 tutorial videos on it) As for the IG, if you're into constantly mounting the monster and racking up insane combos when it's tripped, then go for it. It's pretty much a longsword on steroids.

I'll have to provide my own opinion here too. All of the weapons you've listed are all based on high damage output while utilizing evasion. I'd recommend trying out Switch Axe, it relates much better to those kinds of weapons than Charge Blade. Also have to disagree with this statement, it's not a longsword on steroids, longswords have their own steroids that, in terms of damage alone, outdo the glaive, which has more rounded-out boosts. It's more of a longsword that takes more maintenance to maintain a good output, but with the ability to mount without requiring ledges (which I use ledges anyway).

With the LS infinite combos without long stops are impossible from my experience.

| I have a question about the status crit skill and how it activates.
So I know that it allows your status a chance to be critical but how is that chance determined? The normal critical has a chance every time you attack so you can get an average by multiplying the affinity by the damage increase (10% x 25% = 2.5% average increase) and element would be the same but status doesn't happen each time. I think its 1/3 hits so is the critical status rate found by: (25% extra status x affinity / 3)? Or is it when you get a raw critical you get a guaranteed status and critical status?
Here is what I am really getting at, if I were to use critical draw and crit status does that guarantee a critical status attack? Because I wanted to change up my GS play and strategies.

| Crit Status and Crit Element do the exact same thing: Add 25% additional status/element when a critical blow happens.
With critical draw, and a greatsword, this is indeed a guaranteed hit (as long as you do not have negative affinity to start with.).

I said it was a guaranteed hit... meaning, it will apply the crit status/element skill, not activate the effect. If you hit with a weapon with 200 paralysis, your critical strike would add 50 points to that single hit. If you pass the thresh-hold, then it would paralyze the monster. also of note, a fully charged (level 3) GS hit does 300% of the noted status/element, so using the same example, a weapon with 200 paralysis, at level 3 with critical draw and critical element, would do (200x3) x 1.25 = 750 paralysis Also, those numbers I stated are the raw numbers you would plug into the formula that determines the actual final application.
