| What Chaos Gore Magala weapons are actually worth crafting? I already have the Lance and the Hunting Horn, and I can use pretty much any weapon except Gunlance. I just can't Gunlance for the life of me. | |

| With the exception of the classes with overly strong relics (greatsword, longsword), you can probably make good use of them on the frenzy missions, if you don't mind investing in a weapon for a niche purpose. | |

i find your method works best, IF you do it when he is speeding up. Walking to the side honestly never works, not when he does the better version of his shark charge, the one that turns at you much sharper.

I find that the GS is worth using when you have Crit-Draw. But that weapon will get overshadowed as soon as you can make the Chameleos, Gog, or Diablos GS. Heck, even the upgraded Seregios GS is better. The Bow (to my untrained eye) seems to be good as well.

| I have been doing that thing where you ko basarios out while it is tripped to get earth crystals. Is that considered cheating? I don't have the patience to mine 9 million crystals for those stupid rusted/worn weapons.
In other news, somewhere along the line I picked up the gods island bowgun. What is the current set to use for this gun?

If anything, it would be considered glitch exploiting. But everyone knows that Capcom was extremely ticked off when they decided the amount of Earth Crystals needed to upgrade all of those Worn weapons. As for a set: Weapon: God's Arch. I remember in MHFU, there was a food skill called "Felyne Fear Factor" which made it easier to get crown sizes... Is there anything similar here?

| Not really. I'm no fan of Crit Element or Crit Status unless you:
1. Already have Element Atk Up or Status Atk Up 2. Have high base element or status value 3. Have at least 30% affinity plus another affinity skill like Challenger or Latent Power
It just doesn't really do much.

It just doesn't really do much. Well I wouldn't know, if elemental crit add's as much as 35% more elemental damage to a weapon that mostly relies on elemental damage to deal damage in the first place (sns, dual), wouldn't say it's a bad skill. It would frankly be an excellent skill for any of the shagaru magala weps which get very high affinity and element without extra skills, so hitting for 35% more elemental damage each time you crit, which feels like 80% of the time, that's pretty high increase to me. Course it depends of the weapons according to gajinhunter, but as for dual blades, my crit eye+ele crit sets serve me better than my honed+cha2+eau sets, I simply cannot argue against all those demon dance crits that flinch and trip all dem monsters up and faster kill times. Doesn't hurt that most of my best dual blades got some affinity on em too, relics included. And I use similar set for my shagaru glaive too and it works excellent on guild quests, with all those multihitting moves on glaive. My friend actually made himself honed, razor, cha+2, elemental crit set just for shagaru glaive. Now I just wish I could get handicraft+6 expert+something and I'd totally be making that critical god set. Sure, there are prolly better skills out there to have before tossing either of these in and ele crit and status crit are useless if the wep doesn't have reliable affinity rate but as far as duals go, they're excellent skills to have with crit eye or high affinity weps. I'd recommend round 30% affinity total before the critting becomes fairly reliable tho. Just challenger+2 crit rate seems far too low to me.

I'd recommend round 30% affinity total before the critting becomes fairly reliable tho. Just challenger+2 crit rate seems far too low to me. It's 25% same as regular crits. But your example is Dual Blades, their demon dance attack with the entire thing being a crit if the first one is, is pretty different from the rest of the weapons. The other problem is that the Shagaru weapons have low raw, but then again you're critting most of the time. It's not like it's a bad skill, my main problem with it is that if you're using it, you're going to dedicate your entire set to it, rather than being a skill you can just add on to other things and make it work better.

| yeah i didnt think crit status would be worth it. I was just wondering cause i want as much status as possible, igot the gogma gunner ,with that arcana skill, which takes care of awaken, ele up, and status up, so gemming in status up didnt stack, so i was considering gemming in crit status for as much extra status as possible, but i guess it isnt worth it unless im sporting a weapon with 50% affinity, like my Weblivion bow lol | |

May I ask what critical set are you refering to? I actually have Handicraft+5, Expert+9 OOO talisman, and I'm curious what can I do with it. @Jojozityjo: Crit element is good with weapons with high element just like Element+ skills. If you use it with low element weapons you're doing it wrong. Crit Status is different story since it's extremally easy to get because Chameleos G set have points toward it naturally plus it supports many other great skills like Status+, Hearing, Handicraft etc. I'm using Challenger+2, Status+2, Crit Status, HGE, Razor Sharp set with my 476 natural purple para relic DB and I gotta say I can see the difference between having or not having Crit Status. 30% affinity after Challenger+2 is enough for Crit Status to proc enought times.

Atm running with crit eye+3, sharp+1, razor, hge, elemental crit set and with that talisman, athena tells me ya could def get critical god with it for 2 sets least with 1 slot wep. HGE is a bonus to get in more of those sweet sweet demon dances in and whatever that roars like to interrupt you from doing and never needed much evasion with duals, being so swift on their own and near-evasion esque dash to boot. Battlequarters apex sere falls down like a pile of cards with a good team (as in, dont run away from sere but stick below him so I can keep smashing my x+a) if I go with my Neo acrus duals. - set1:
Ukanlos Mask X Garuga Mail X Rath Soul Braces Z Garuga Tassets X Rath Soul Greaves Z ----------------- +5 Handicraft, +9 Expert OOO ----------------- 1x Expert Jewel 3 2x CritElementJwl 2 1x Expert Jewel 1 3x Earplug Jewel 1 ----------------- 484-718 Def, 7 Fir, -8 Wat, -8 Ice, 3 Thn, -8 Drg
- set2:
Garuga Helm X Garuga Mail X Rath Soul Braces Z Garuga Tassets X Rath Soul Greaves Z ----------------- +5 Handicraft, +9 Expert OOO ----------------- 1x Artisan Jewel 3 1x CritElementJwl 2 3x CritElementJwl 1 2x Expert Jewel 1 ----------------- 473-712 Def, 15 Fir, -12 Wat, -16 Ice, 9 Thn, -5 Drg
With more slotted weps (like relics) I can sometimes even slot in lastingpower on my sets just because gathering raw meat for dash juices sucks.

| Well I'm not into Duals that much, I'd rather use it on Glaive or LS. Anyway, thanks for recommendations!
I saw this kind of combination of ofensive skills on some Japanese players videos (Critical God + Critical Status/Element). The thing is, I'm not so sure if Critical Eye skill is still worth gemming in 4th gen, especially after HUGE nerf from 3rd gen. Critical Eye+3 gives you 20% affinity for 20 skill points which is already really expensive, while Critical God requires whooping 30 points for 30% affinity.
This brings up a question is it still worth it? Challenger+2 is Attack up XL + 20% affinity which is basically Critical Eye+3. And it requires only 15 skill points. Critical Eye+1 on the other hand got unintentionally buffed since it stayed the same, giving +10% affinity. Because it's really easy to gem in, it's really stron skill. Combination of Challenger+2 and Critical Eye+1 is imho better in every aspect than Critical God. It gives you Attack up XL + Critical God. And all this for 25 skill points total.
That's why I have Challenger+2 on my duals and not Critical God.
I'm not sure, I could be wrong on this.

No, they pumped it to XL in 4U with transition from 3rd gen. It gives 25 true raw(AuXL) + 20% affinity. Since monsters are always angry, it's godly.
