What is your LEAST favorite weapon?

I bought a lance, tried it out, kept getting killed.. I need that tumble abilty,.. went back to the villiage and immediately sold that thing back to the blacksmith, lol.

The gun backfired and it exploded, thus a tie.

My least favourite has to be the bowgun. I hate bowguns. The aiming system is rubbish. Why can't you aim by pointing the wiimote? That's why it has a cursor! Also, what's with this stupd customisation? It's pointlessly complicated and means you get one weapon for the price of three with worse armour!

The movement is a little too fluid, it's easier to pick the exact part of the monster you want to hit with the current style. The best aiming option would be mouse+keyboard, but we don't have that :P

Each piece of Chaos Wing costs 14,200z, so multiply that by 3.

3(14200)=42600z

By upgrading the frame you're adding 11,360z to the cost of the weapon which pulls it up to a grand total of 53,960z.

Crafting an Alatreon weapon costs 77,777z and the upgrade costs 100,000z. Chaos Wing costs less then one third of an Alatreon weapon, and it's going to take assloads of ammo in order to make up for the 100,000z+ difference (although you will end up spending more in the long long long run). You have only just reached high rank, when gunners are at their most useful.
The aiming system can be solved with practice (like alot of things). The customisation allows for a gun to specialise in an ammo type of your choice.
After all, the guns greatest strength is that of veriety in both customistaion and ammo types.
The armor has weaker defence because at a distance, you shouldnt get hit very often anyways.
You should try hunting with experienced gunners, they can make alot of difference...

That's not my problem with the aiming. I find the sensitivity is ok, but I wish it would stay aimed at the same place when you move. Although the D-pad does annoy me more than a little.

I've played other games with wiimote aiming systems and it seemed fine to me. Why shouldn't it work in Monster Hunter?

I understand that the customisation can be very useful if used properly, I just personally dislike it and find that it's more problematic than helpful.

When I said 'cost', I meant in materials, not money. I don't know what the high-rank ones are like, but from what I've seen, they cost very similar amounts of materials to other weapons.

Yes, but that's quite heavily helped by the standard nature of the bowgun as a support-based weapon where the monster is not completely focused on ripping your head off, but also in dealing with your comrades. I normally hunt alone and am lonely, due to an unreliable connection, so I don't really get this advantage.

I don't use them wrong, I don't use them at all! Hehe. I don't really see the point in me practising with a weapon that doesn't suit me. There are plenty of others which I'm fine with, so I'll just stick with them, since I'm not exactly in desperate need for a new weapon. I also never really play online anymore.

I appreciate that, with the right user, the bowgun can be a very good weapon, but I am not the right user and, personally, I really hate using them.

my least fav weapons are all the "custom made" ones, they are not supposed to be there and they should not.

Lol I have to agree with her that is a valid response. As for my least favorite weapon I'll say divine exodus along with the custom weapons it just doesn't feel right breaking down the games bounderies

I used to think my least favorite were Sword and Board and Switch Axe

Then I played long enough and learned to use them properly too.

In my opinion there is no best and worst weapon by a noticeable enough margin, I think some are just better or more fun against certain monsters.

One thing I cant grasp is ppl who think great sword is no good because it is slow. I would point out that It can be one of the fastest weapons to kill a monster, sure it swings the slowest but also hits the hardest, combined with the magic of good timing it is extremely effective and in my opinion the most satisfying weapon and my favourite. xD

I can't seem to do good with a great sword or a hammer. They're just not my thing I guess. >.<

I usually go with longsword, but I can use a switch axe, lance, or sword and shield if necessary.

I just can't get the hang of how a bowgun is supposed to work... I'm just clumsy with it...
As far as melee is concerned, I have problems with the lance and the hammer :|
I usually use LS or SnS to slice stuff up :evil:
If MH3G comes to the west, I'll definitely try out the dualswords^^

Thats funny coz Great Sword and Hammer are my favourites!

Since I started playing 3rd Dual swords has become my equal 3rd favourite next to the lance, its just a fun hacky slashy alternative compared to the two timing weapons I normally prefer to use and a great way to spam some element or status fast

Last I checked it out capcom did "officially" say they are gonna translate 3G it but not till about December or something, pretty dissapointing coz 4 will be coming out probably not far off that date

I really much prefer the cats as companions over the Shakalaka dudes anyday.

A stick, aka wooden longsword.
Also, shields are the best weapon in the game.
