What is your LEAST favorite weapon?

I bought a lance, tried it out, kept getting killed.. I need that tumble abilty,.. went back to the villiage and immediately sold that thing back to the blacksmith, lol.

Ooooh, my turn! I love all of the weapons, but just seem to be afraid of using the Guns. I gotta compensate for the deviation and make sure people don't get in the way.... They don't feel like they do as much damage, either. It doesn't feel as pleasurable as pounding a monsters face in.

I also greatly dislike Long Sword and Switch Axe users for the same reason as everyone else. If I see "Sorry...." one more time, I'm gonna start blowin' people up.

I like to think each monster is done in best by a certain weapon. I used to dislike Sword and Shield before I realized how awesome it is as a hit and runner. Kills Barioth best for me, lemme tell ya.

Here's my list favorite weapon :

Switch Axe. If it's in the hand of an inexperienced player, everything in the hunt will go wrong.

Trust me, bowguns can be just as damaging as any other wep. A group of pierce gunners can kill jhozilla in 5-6min easy, 1:50ish was my best but we were trap spaming and also had a status gunner.

I have been LSing a long time, and I can trip no one while still doing maximum damage. Alot of High Ranks LS users have mastered this too.

The SWAX upswing is the universal troll attack, and although I don't SWAX, I think the upswing is not needed for most scenarios.

GS. Slow. I don't like slow, I like fast.

SnS for me, I just don't see how it inflicts much damage...

Specifically, I'd say Grief Lance. There was just no need to put it in, looks ridiculous and isn't useful at all. Ever.

hate lances... 3 consecutive dodges, counter and good zoning wif pokes makes it ez as hell without people tripping you

then Lancers cry when they get tripped but they start triple pokes behind me when i lance and trip me... "Okay" -,-p

I don't mind using any of the weapons, but I use to dislike using gs because of the slowness and lance because of no roll, but I've gotten use to them and love the lance now, the weapon I have the most issues with are swax because I'm constantly upswinged sometimes in quest and it can get very irritating /mad/

Am finally getting used and starting to like lance tho

Dislike longsword, to many hunters blinding their view with all their swings and get hit on the face and die!...=/

Second least fav is pro'ly GS, just feels so slooow, but at least it can block. Not a hammer fan either meself. You're expected to be infront of the monster... I don't want to be there D;

I know how everyone else sings praises for the lance but I just can't figure it out. Because it has a unique evasive set I generally get pummeled because I evaded backwards into an angry Diablos' path instead of shield charging forward.

I use the GS exclusively. Tried out LS and Lance, and didn't like 'em too much.

Took me a while to get the hang of GS though, but once you know the timing on a monster, he's in pretty deep sh*t.

Breaking off any part (except mabe barroth heads and uragaan chins) is as easy as breathing, and each sniped lvl 3 charge on Diablos' face is worth 10 hits from anything else.

I agree this weapon's a b**th to learn, though. Any mistake you make is punished hard and fast, and missing a charged shot window will set your dmg back more than any SnS screwup.


Having said that, my least favorite is the Bowgun. I can't shoot straight for the life of me, and spend half the fight running for dear life without ever attacking. (only tried it solo)

Well its the great sword for me, i think its far too slow, far too heavy and takes ages to pick up from the ground once its hit it. This is why i have a SwitchAxe. it is much more faster, does a great amount of damage and some of its moves are excelent. the one thing that makes the great sword better than the SA is that you can block.This is why you barely see anybody with a Great sword these days.

I'm assuming this is a Tri only question. I'm not saying that I loathe this weapon, I just find it extremely hard to use properly, but i have to go with hammers. I just do not prefer to be as close to a monster's head as I can get. I'm more a sneaky type who likes to creep around a monster and not get noticed by it too often.

Anywho, in regards to the topic I'de have to say the hammer.
Mainly because it is slow, at least in my opinion, it can do a lot of damage but the slowness is just a downer for me. At least that slow, I can tolerate until Switch-Axe,being my weapon of choice, but not sword mode xD only when I need to

@haruno, my unity account was banned after fighting with mods who were telling people that SWAX infinite combo was good, along with lance charge -_-.

It's far from my least favourite weapon, but I just hate how the Switchaxe can send teammates flying so easily. In one match I upswung Zuko once and phial bursted him twice, even though I was trying desperately not to do so.

Then again Zuko barely even tripped me with the Switchaxe in that quest. So maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Anyway, my least favourite is still Greatsword. I just feel like I'm barely doing any damage with it, just sneaking in a hit here and there with it as opposed to feeling the sheer power of combo-ing with a Switchaxe or unleashing a stream of Pierce shots.
