First topic message reminder :

ceadeus tail.... been farming for them and only got two (from the repel only quest)

in the decisive battle, I've broken his tail numerous times and never got a tail.... (do i actually have to go to the tail and carve????)

(got deep dragon gem almost very time..... and 2 elderdragon blood in one run too...)

or does the repel only quest (save moga village) have a higher drop rate???

MAJOR BAD LUCK?

If you're with a big team, use Sabertooth G and damage boosting (vangis, or los). Preferably with a stat gunner though. If you're on your own, agna OF or + makes it easy to solo HR blos (darn slow though).

mmm no good, since overforged lagi will gave you Status Att Down, since Para is a status attack using lagi will be no good.

If you want to para use Nox+ or a Bhanabra+ mixed with other sets.

Diablos is really easy to farm with a lance in my opinion and since he is really weak to Ice a Sabertooth (g) can cause a world of pain on him.

If you got a Agnaktor + armor, (that is not that hard to make), and a Sabertooth (G) in hands it will be a cakewalk!

EDIT: woot Win32 was faster... well at least we agree that the sabertooth (G) is one of the best options for the fight

Im close to Los overforged, would this be a good skill set up for Los armor?

I think it was more of a critism. Using Lagi armor with a para weapon is like using water to store your matches. You're essentially trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and using available extra slots to do it.

Lagi armor is great if you are using an element weapon, but use a bnahabra mix with Status attack up if you are going to use a status weapon. It's a better set up for what you are trying to accomplish and will allow you more open slots for skills.

Palas buddy, if you feel strongly enough to leave a comment, please explain what you mean so others can learn from it rather than get frustrated by it.

Sorry for the behaviour. The part I didn't get was the "there are better longswords than Shadowbinder" since I don't know what "better" means in this case. Damage-wise? But then again isn't the point paralyzing the monster? Plus it's all so circumstantial about LS and SnS and even Lances to a certain degree.

I meant damage wise :\ If he was using status attack up I would have recommended it. I probably should have explained myself better anyways.

1) I got a Deep Dragongem. What do I save it for? I'm not in HR yet.

2) Am I crazy for using non optimal weapons? The Barroth spear makes this really neat cha-chunk sound when you draw it. Also the Ceadeus GS looks really neat. I'd rather try Barroth with that, then the Ludroth GS.

3) What is the joke/issue with Gun Dao?

3) What is the joke/issue with Gun Dao?

1. There's plenty of weapons that need DDG's, and High rank helios does too (i think). Don't use it on any LR stuff, you'll be hating yourself in high rank (it's the only rare low rank item that cannot be obtained more easily in high rank).

2. No, you are not. But if you use VERY bad weapons (comparatively), then people won't like you online. Unless you're playing with friends, when online, use "good" weapons. Basically, don't use the wrong element, or just a really sucking weapon. Example: On Diablos, with sharpness+1, Gleam is better than the Sabertooth. But it's not that bad, so people won't mind (and everybody likes to match elements, right? Makes you seem smarter :D).

3. There used to be, and still are, people using the guan dao against everything. In high rank. It's not such a bad blade if you use when you get it (same for the upgrade). It's never the best choice, but not that bad either. However, due to its easy availability, the looks, and the dragon element, a lot of newer players use it too much. It probably became a joke when people started using ian+ with the unupgraded guan dao against alatreon.

Not such a stupidly bad weapon, but it attracts certain newer players.

Note: You talked about using deus GS instead of Luddy GS. Both are pretty bad, due to low raw. Element doesn't matter for GS, just go for the highest raw+sharpness you can get. At least when you're online Yes by vort.

2.) ur crazy if u DONT use them :D but like wut win said, try not to use bad weapons with randies people will hate u for it...

Okay, I got a legitimate question.

you got a diablos in rage mode so he can't be sonic bombed, what SHOULD you do when he's underground? What I've been doing, which makes me feel cowardly, is I just stand there and start guarding with my GS until he pops out.

Is there a way to predict him better?

From memory alone, correct me if I"m wrong. (sorry if i have bad grammar, its midnight...)

Usually when you hear the thump thump thump (3 shakes at the same spot) He'll do the leaping tackle.

When he's underground and it's really quiet and he hasn't moved, He'll do the surprise rape attack from the ground.

There's not much to do while he's in rage mode I guess. What I usually do is run around seeing what he's going to do. On the Leaping Tackle you can run from it and turn back to attack him when he's done.

If you keep on running around the surprise attack from below will miss you by a few centimeters (if he's gunning for you) and you can turn around to snag some few hits.

Got a little thing to add:

If you're blademastering, try to run at him right after his charges. You might be able to hurt him some if he uses his body slame/tail thing instead of the charges. Also, he can still get stuck with his horns (if he still has them). It's worth the try when you can't do much damage any other way.

Also, using status combos is still possible (if you pitfall and flash, you oughta be able to get KO or para off too).

PostSubject: Re: The Question Hotline   The Question Hotline - Page 26 Icon_minitimeMon Mar 12, 2012 3:51 pm

It's world eater season again and I've got a question for veteran gunners here:

In speed-running world eater, it is essential to have a capable status/trap spammer in the team. The routine would be: the first person to area 5 (where Jho is) would put Jho to sleep (using smoke bombs + drugged meat), then spam flashbombs to blind the cats. Place bombs at Jho's mouth.

The question is... does the following sequence produce the best times, or any better sequence/variants/add-ons?

1. Place shock trap just under his mouth
2. Detonate bombs (using small/felvine bombs)
3. Paralyze jho (4 X Para lv2 S, wait for Jho to get free from trap before landing last shot)
4. Place pitfall trap
5. Paralyze jho (8 X Para lv2 S, wait for Jho to get free from trap before landing 8th shot)
6. Fire some bounce bombs+
7. Place pitfall trap
8. Throw some tranq bombs and some bounce bombs+ and hope Jho would be capped by that time

Is there anything, or is there a different sequence, that can be added to help get faster times?

Fastest time I have achieved with a competent team (the pierce gunners were all using Grin / Chaos / Blizzard) is 1:28, without using adrenaline.

Sheathe as soon as it digs. Then run back a bit, then in circles around it. If it digs at you you can outrun it; if it does the leap, panic dive in the same direction as it is going.
