Why is there no thread of this?

Oh well.

Skyrim is the newest game of the Elder Scrolls series of Bethesda Softworks.
The Elder Scrolls games are Action RPG's set in a huge world offering a very large amount of quests.

Well, look up some trailers and gameplay and stuff. It's worth getting. Release is in 7 days, on 11/11/11.

It doesnt really matter whether you use light or heavy armor, because assuming you have the right perks, they can be nearly equal and it just depends on how you like to play the game, i will probably later make a heavy armor file, then even more later ill probaby make a no armor file for shits n' giggles.

Some people prefer to not abuse the game mechanics to make godly weapons so that there is still a challenge to it.

Not if you have the heavy armor perk that makes your armor weight not matter, or even affect anything.

and who cares if something detects you, one shot it and keep going

This. I'm a Bosmer and new to the Elder Scrolls games, pretty crap at it too and I have no trouble staying undetected.

this is pretty ironic when you just were talking about modifying the game to get additional perks...

Additional perks don't allow me to one-shot dragons.

I love fireball/ice storm/chain lightning. :nya:
What level destruction can I buy expert spells at? I'm at 41 now (guessing it's 60).

Ah, damn it. Destruction takes a while to level up later on. Guess I might drop the steed stone for lover's stone or mage stone again...

Challengers only appear when you level a Magic skill. Illusion in my case. I believe they appear when you reach lv50 in one.

Being a sneaky sneaky character... Iunno what to do for melee weapons. To get max damage I get that you should probably use 2 daggers... but I see a lot of people using one... Is this for a shield or what? 0_o

A sneak character can get up to 30x dmg for sneak attacks with daggers. The second hand is usually used for a spell or another weapon.
The point of sneaks is to kill before they notice you :P

I think that dual wielding daggers or using a shield on a sneaky backstabber is ridiculous and pointless. It breaks immersion a bit so I don't do that, even though it would be better. I do think a good option for that free hand is to either leave it open so you can block if necessary or have a spell like Fury or Calm. Though light emitted from a spell can also betray your location.

Something weird has happened for the second time now: after killing a dragon I didn't absorb his spirit. Is this some kinda bug? Or does it just happen naturally, or did I cause it in some way? I find this rather annoying because I could use some spirits atm...

Respawned dragons on locations that you have cleared before do not give a soul. That means primarily Dragon Altars.

Nope, both weren't killed on a dragon altar... but it's possible i've done the area before, i dun really know. I guess I shouldn't worry too much....

There is a bug that will affect dragon souls absorbing, confirmed on all three platforms I think. Dunno whether a fix is in this next patch though (if it's yet to come, haven't been on in a while)

Aw man vampirism finnaly came through for me (not that 25% stronger illusion wasnt nice), with the necromage perk...bug...thing... all my shit is 25% better, summons last 25% longer, healing spells heal 25% more (i think anyways, i pretty much healed for full hp anyways prior to getting it), and best of all, I can just carry my arch mage robes around now instead of 3 seperate robes for 100% spell reduction.
