| I figured now would be the perfect time to start a complaint thread about your experiences with Randoms as I have a complaint about them already.
Anyways, in the Demo I set up a room for Tetsucabra. I get 4 people and as I'm choosing weapons one of the people leaves booting us all from the server. I hate that!

| I have to admit I can't get the hang of crawling on monsters no matter what weapon I use. Just so used to the non monster riding of the previous games.
And I do bow on the ledges because it's easier to aim at Tetsucabra from there. Uneven surfaces make targeting trickier than the flat landscapes on older games. Don't judge me as long as I hit the monster eh?

i think he meant people standing atop the high wall at the entrance to the area where he first spawns and "sniping" him from up there so they are so far away from the monster that they don't do any damage anymore. standing on the small ledges down on the ground is no problem and even though i'm really not one to go for maximal damage output i have to say that especialy with bow (and bowgun) simply hitting the monster isn't always enough.

| Really? How in the world do you create enough damage by being so far away from the monster? Yeesh! I am an up close and personal Bow Hunter I can guarantee you. My nephew says I get too close to the monster as a Gunner.

| I noticed a random adopted the Kelbi Bow method of spamming lvl 1 shots because more hits equals more damage AMIRITE!?
I also frequently run into insect staff players who literally only use the vault attack.

| I see this post as the new "Waaaambulance". Since the game is not fully out, the only things to complain about are the way people use the current weapons and mechanics. I am sure it will switch to more game development issues later... like how hard it would be to "complete" a specific "found" armor set (what are those called anyways).
As a side question: You can be kicked off "riding"? Second, Are you limited in how many times you can "Ride" a monster per quest, or time?

| I thought that is what these kinds of threads are for, to complain about the derpiness of Randoms. The game might not be out, but a multi player demo with negative experiences with random people is and that's why I created this thread. | |

| ^ I find "Randoms" more considerate than.. "eliteist" or many long time players, or those who feel they are experts because they started on Tri.
Thing is though.. a lot of those randoms that are most likely new to the game may not even know that much and are doing their best.. What's worse imagine a new player having problems or just learning getting B****ed out because of that then logging onto a forum to try and talk to others or learn more and see a whole thread about "randoms", noobs or what not and how terrible they are.. Just my thoughts but it doesn't seem very open minded.
Don't get me wrong though, I see Sephastus' point and how the thread could be used in a positive way to talk about gear "excavations gear", or other items and how difficulty they are to find or about the learning curve and so on of the game.. But to "complain" about another person and most likely in an insulting way (even if it is unknown who they are), just doesn't seem like a way to get new people interested in the game or help those who are new.

1. if someone attacks the monster while you are riding it and they flinch the monster the one riding will fall off. 2. There is no limit how often you can ride a monster, however riding works simmilar to status attacks, you have to do a certain ammount of damage with arial attacks to mount a monster this amount of dmg steadily increases every tme you mount the monster.

Pushing one button is doing their best? They're not going far, especially considering the tutorial in the Demo. - Quote :

Look, this is an annoying issue because due to the lack of communications in the demo, there's nothing to do about it. The terrible players will be terrible players. If they decide to play in Experienced Mode, at least show some experience. Otherwise, stick in Beginner Mode and go through the tutorials... Then come back. - Quote :

If you can't take criticism about how you play, then go. Learning is something huge in Monster Hunter. If you're a Lance user who does nothing but charging, and you go online to a forum seeing posters complaining about Lance chargers and why it's bad to spam... That's wrong for noobs? The hell, man. I know it's harsh getting dissed, but please don't let bad players do as they please. Old habits die hard, and it's best to stop the players and teach them rather than just ignore the problem to be "considerate".

Old habits die hard, and it's best to stop the players and teach them rather than just ignore the problem to be "considerate". there has been many debates about the way people play.. just because you don't agree with it (and I may not either) doesn't mean they are wrong for playing the way they want.. YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAY WITH THEM!!! Also my issue with this post has nothing to do with if they do it or if it's right or wrong it's the negativity aimed at people directly. The "wanbulance" thread was mainly directed at (or should have been) issues of contol methods, not getting items, glitches, monster behaviors and so on. No to insult anyone... And their is a big difference in discussing issues and complaining about issues and especially complaining about people. Tom and sephs posts are a good example of having an issue and talking about it. This I have no problem with, it's when people start attacking others (weather they are on the forum or not) where I do have a problem. - TKMT wrote:

That's a playstyle. Trap and gun down? That's a playstyle. Hack and slash to victory? Playstyle. No big deal on that. HOWEVER, one resulting to spamming is the issue here when it comes to "the way people play". A Swaxe user who never uses sword mode and does nothing but infinity slash... That's bad. Especially in Tri, as it was The Weakest Move. A Great Sword user who swings his blade willy nilly even with the target stunned, paralyzed, trapped or immovable in any fashion. That's bad. A Lance user who keeps lance charging for those consecutive hits who will undoubtedly ram into all of the teammates, and only uses Lance Charge given any circumstance. That's bad. This is not simply a playstyle, it's a habit brought by inexperience and ill knowledge that can be fixed by either figuring it out yourself, or learning from other people's experience. The latter is best to help people, be it indirect criticism(which is being done by Forum users generalizing common problems), or by talking to the inexperienced themselves.

| Back to on-topic bitching: the other day I did a successful mount on Testu, so my gunlance team mate went to go wyvernfire its butt. For some reason, the other team mate who was a hammer just decided to super pound right where the GL was even though they were nowhere near the head. I couldn't tell if the hammer was just being rude or what. | |
