First topic message reminder :

I figured now would be the perfect time to start a complaint thread about your experiences with Randoms as I have a complaint about them already.

Anyways, in the Demo I set up a room for Tetsucabra. I get 4 people and as I'm choosing weapons one of the people leaves booting us all from the server. I hate that!

Serious. So the huntathon isnt worth it since you get the same rewards no matter how many you kill.

Hunt-a-thons only give you the regular rewards +breakables. The more parts you break, the greater chance that you will get that breakable... NOT multiple of that breakable.

I only do the 2 required monsters, unless it is a pushover monster, like hammering the Tetsu.

Complaint: Why o why does the S-Jho's bar after he catches me take so long, and hit so hard, and have such a wide frontal cone, and no tell-tale sign to avoid it. Pretty much, its 1)pray for a miracle, 2) have your felynes help you, or 3) carry dung bombs. And I am always forgetting dung bombs. I can be at full health, and it is almost a guaranteed thing he will completely eat me up and spit me out. (literally). Then you just lay there on the floor until the animation decides that you are dead enough. Only ONE time, did my felynes "resurrect" me from that "death", but when I got up, I had stars, and was quickly eaten again... as if to add insult to injury.

Where do you find out what special conditions there are to quests like this. tired of unhappy surprises in this game.

Trial and error, plus experience from prior Monster Hunters. This was the case in MHFU as well. I went very ummm... gun-ho with killing as many gravios as possible at one run (over 10), and was "disappointed" to say the least, when I saw I got the same basic rewards, as when I did only 2 of them.

There are a number more "surprizes" in this game, but unless specifically referenced, I am not sure what would be "surprising" to you, since it isn't to me.

Example: Diminishing returns on just about everything. Everything that stops the monster for a while or otherwise incapacitates it, will do it for much less each time that it's effect is triggered.

Low & High Rank SOLO quests yield less rewards than same level Gathering hall quests.

Certain "Low" and "High" armor/weapon sets can ONLY be gained after some "High" and "G" ranked gathering hall quests are completed. (Fatalis Helm, for example, requires Akantor parts, who is not available until certain High Ranked Gathering Hall quests are completed).

So, I don't really know what you would consider surprising... How about we make a new thread called: "Things I wish I knew when I started MH4U". That way we can all contribute.

^ the pumpkin armor (moswhatever) I am working on is a low rank armor that cant be complete until you unlock the ice place in high rank. The head needs nova crystals and legs need hurcudromes.

I swear the people who don't bother to bring lifepowders especially to najarala G-rank... I keep chugging away powders when it looks like someone is gonna die to his wrap up move.. but in return I get stunned myself by the scales, get wrapped up and paralysed, lie down there for a good while and die miserably as people are too focused on hitting the monster.

Oh and gunners who shoot crags.. at its body and blow me away while they should be shooting at it's head since it's weakest point anyway and chance for a stun.

Then people who insist on bringing a para wep of all things to najarala, keep insisting its good (its not with 400 treshold lol), die and then ragequit and get stuck in my city as grey, without being able to be removed. >_<

Got basically the same exact thing with the game offering me Narga armor. Almost every material is low rank, so I figured I'd have it before Shagaru Magala. but then it turns out I need Pearl Hides and a Wyvern Stone, chiefly because... I dunno, someone on the development team was an asshole.

The game is being way too generous with worn and rust weapons. My earth crystal supply ran out so goddam fast. Looks like I know what I'm doing for the next hour.

Hating on the development team for adding skills on Low & High Ranked equipment, which have NO WAY of being completed without armor from G ranked monsters, or being VERY lucky in expeditions.

They are super teases. And here I thought I could get Ferocity through Molten Tigrex.... bah.

Been farming high rank Brachy for awhile now. I need just one Pounder. ONE! I've gotten 5 gems but no Pounder... 59% chance for one from break rewards? I doubt it.

I feel your pain. The desire sensor was working overtime for me and my hunt for a shagaru gem... The first twenty-five or so hunts, nothing. And then suddenly, got three in a row today. Of course now I don't have the money I need to upgrade the weapon I want to... so, mostly happy ending, anyway.

I need commendation g for my worn weapons, BUT I ALSO KEEP GETTING MORE WORN WEAPONS.

So you just slain a gigantic world-eating snake? Congratulations!

.. Is there no relic Charge Blade.. I do the ones that give IG, SA and CB... and have gotten some really great weapons for both the others but not a single CB relic!

They exist, there are just substantially less of them.

You have to hunt Brute Tigrex, Brachydios, Gore Magala, Diablos, Yian Garuga, Rajang, Teostra, Chameleos, or Shagaru Magala. The more common ones like Zinogre won't cut it.

Teostra nosebooping me should NOT hurt that much.

I've noticed that on that list, it says you get the Type 41 Wyvernator (Great Sword) from fighting the Basarios. However, I've been doing some Basarios Guild Quests where I keep getting Siegmunds. So I'm not sure how accurate that is.

I'd also like to point out that I'm pretty sure I've gotten some battered weapons from monsters that aren't on that given weapon's list. I can't name any off of the top of my head though.

Today I met a leech. How did I know it was a leech? They ran around behind me the entire time. Yup. Behind me while I was HEAVY BOWGUNNING. Yup this GREATSWORD player was behind me while I was gunning. How grand and not obvious at all. It was only made more obvious when the host of the room carted and no one was in the monster's face for awhile. The other player and I finally killed the monster, and look who shows up to carve: the leech!! At this point I showed off what I do to leeches. Their ass got shelled and wyvern fired into oblivion. The leech gave up on carving and made pitiful attempts to hit me with their greatsword. I should change my title on my guild card to "Leech Cop"

Now that I think about it, back when my guild quest was low rank, it might have given the type 41 great sword.

Maybe it has to do with the guild quest's level, as well as the monster? Or maybe it also has to do with what type of relic you get (Since you can get Seasoned Weapons and Battered Weapons in high rank guild quests.)?

I went to solo the event quest for Link's tunic. It's a "high rank" event quest, but all three monsters are buffed. Zinogre and Kirin went by fine, but they took longer than usual and I didn't realize they were buffed. Rajang went super saiyan and 1shot me. I guess I should have looked at the rank first because it was ranked 7 stars haha. I only have the equipment from offline and am HR4

How much defense do you have with your current armor?

I still have early high rank armor hahaha. I can't be bothered to get a new one until g-rank. Oh well. I'm just gonna blast through high rank guild since I have everything I need to do so.

Decided to see the Gathering Hall version of Moran solo... he's such a pushover... I am thinking the title of veteran actually applies to me. Kinda proud.
