| Couple of new questions:
1. Is Rathalos armor good for Gunner?
2. Why is Guan Dao considered a bad weapon among formers?
3. I've been having this problem lately with a mass string of disconnects. When I'm halfway through the quest, I get DCed. Whenever there are more than 2 people in the town, I get DCed. Sometimes I don't even manage to get INTO a town before seeing the dreaded "connection terminated" message. It's driving me mad /mad/. I can barely rise my hunter rank anymore. How do you ensure stable connection?

How do you ensure stable connection? 1. Low Rank- not the greatest, but pretty good High Rank- Normal S boost?? If you want to play with normal S, it could be fun but most gunner go with pierce. 2. Okay, up to level 40, I can't see an option which is always better. (Wyvern blade flame is better on many critters tho). But immediately upon hitting level 40 the Guan Dao should be abandoned in favor of the shadowbinder P. 3. Well, it could be a. your wii(unlikely but can't rule it out) b. your router c. your ISP d. something not obvious e. interference from other people's routers In my case, I have DSL, and I recently upgraded my router. my old router was 54Mbps, and could only do WEP encryption. My new router is 300MBps, and does WPA2. when I tried to set my new router to WEP, to match my old routers settings, It basically told me I was being stupid and WPA2 was faster. The new router is working awesomely. If your router is already proven to be good, that means it's time to talk to your ISP. Or there's possibility e, especially if you live in a dorm or apartment "E" is a little trickier. You need to detect the channels your real-life neighbors are broadcasting SSIDs on, and choose the emptiest channel. Your best option will be 1, 6, or 11.(don't choose anything other than those 3 options because toher wifi "channels" are a joke, 2-5 interfere with both 1 and 6, etc.

It is generally outclassed by the appropriate upgraded low rank element longsword by 3*, not to mention the high rank ones. Yan Yue Dao forged before you have access to demise is good on a couple few monsters. 3. Your internet conection is not very stable, or you are having a bad string of luck choosing people to connect with who are unstable. Open your ports, don't connect wirelessly, change routers, or change internet provider. Or group with known stable friends.

| Okay, I have an alt that's at the lagi urgent offline and at 2* online. It's my Gs/hammer char and I need some good hammers and Gses at that level and what path to go with. You dont have to, but the best sets at that lvl would be great (remember, you dont have to do) | |

| Wow, thanks for a quick response!
@Ughtorf - Unfortunately, I can't change my security settings to WPA because I also use it [the router] for my DS, which can't connect to anything higher than WEP. I'll look into the channels and try to port-forward my Wii, thanks.

| pierce shots have been discusses all over the forum, just use search to find a few threads about it.
as for why is it good just consider it's got the highest raw damage of all ammo (excluding various kind of explosives) coupled with a 1,5 damage multiplier at the ideal range, no other weapon can have a combo of 6-11 attacks with such a high power to boot.
as for guns.... what is this 2 posts above me??? D:
guns should be written as frame/barrel/stock to keep consistency with ingame setups!! D:
also if you post guns give a minimum of an explanation if using a "non standard" set, jehn barrel will give your gun a long range wich is not suitable for pierce unless you are piercing underwater or something huge like jehn.
also, my favourite pierce gun is thundacrus rex/diablozooka/thundacrus, using diablozooka will reqire you to use deviation reducing skills but also reduce your range for a better pierce efficiency.

and what gun is the best for it? pierce is good because of the high dps and the amount of ammo you kan shoot. as for the gun, i kant remember atm so sorry  Pierce is god on jho 'coz it can effortlessly hit his weakspots (belly and face), and his attacks are fairly easy for gunners to dodge, thus low range gunners (typical for pierce users) have a field day firing away. Some gun sets I personally use: General Pierce Gunning: Thundacrus Rex / Grin / Thundacrus Rathling+ / Grin / Diablozooka Pierce lv1 Focus, Low Range, High Deviation: Thundacrus Rex / Diablozooka / Thundacrus Thundacrus Rex / Barozooka / Aquamatic Needler Pierce lv2 and lv3 Focus (especially for Worldeater event): Rathling+ / Grin / Blizzard Cannon Blizzard Cannon / Grin / Blizzard Cannon (needs recoil+1) Chaos Wing / Grin / Blizzard Cannon Most sets involve Diablos pieces mixed with other parts depending on what additional skill you want (ie, Bari waist and feet for Evasion, Alloy/Gobul for Crit Eye). Some notes: *Most of the time, "Pierce S All Up" is not necessary as you should be firing mostly Pierce lv1 ammo. Excpetion of course is World Eater, where Pierce lv2 and lv3 shine. *Don't use rapid fire pierce. *Always carry bird wyvern fangs and pin tuna and husks. Combo pro is always nice. *Evasion is highly useful, especially for lower-ranged guns. *Always be at the "optimum" distance where most, if not all, pierce hits will have the 1.5 damage modifier (indicated by the bright flash when the shots hit). Practice makes perfect ^_^ *Deviation (if in one direction) in pierce is not that bad, in fact you can use it to your advantage ;)

Thanks Compare rathalos gunner to Diablos gunner for pierce. Not even close. Better skills and pants/legs free for more. Pierce benefits from short range modifier because it delivers multiple hits in a line, delivering those hits in increments based on the range of the gun. The lower range of gun makes it easier to land all your hits in before the round passes through. Even pierce 1 may pass through medium monsters without landing all hits if you sport a long range gun.

It can lure some monsters, like barioth, to a zone of your choosing. It can lure a monster in your zone over to a trap you've just layed.

It can lure some monsters, like barioth, to a zone of your choosing. It can lure a monster in your zone over to a trap you've just layed. For the first point, its not entirely correct. It increases the chance of a monster going to an area of your choosing, so long the monster naturally go there from the starting area. (e.g.: Barioth will go from Area 6 to either 7 or 2. Using the hunting horn in 2 increases the chance it goes there) The second use as pointed above is really useful for Alatreon, especially if its mucking about in the Lava.
