For attack, attack jewels and attack talismans, if it's not obvious.

Slime damage is boosted by the Bombardier armor skill. Bombardier Jewels are needed.

HR Volvi will have Attack Up Medium to start. It's easily gemmed up to Attack Up Large with an Attack Jewel 1 in the torso and an Attack Jewel 2 in the headpiece. That'll leave two more slots remaining. Your choice (luck) of charm will likely dictate the remaining skill(s) you get.

I have plenty attack jewels from my old G Jaggi HR armour, so that works out well!

I am going to try for a bombardier boost as well, provided I have a talisman for bomb boost +6 or better...

The early G-Rank god set thingofgreathype... Helios ZXZZZ was it? I forgot the exact combination. Thing is, I put that into MHAG and the only skill it has on its own is Earplugs with one point til HGE. How much is necessary to make that set worth it in terms of talismans and jewels?

The early G Rank Sharpness +1 and HGE is all Helios Z, with Helios X Waist, I haven't used my Grank character lately, but I'm 99% sure you don't need talis or decos

Is there any simple methods to overload or reset the RNG? I've been trying for two weeks (technically my whole mh career since I've never had this weapon in either Tri or TriU) to get the Rust hammer, but I can't seem to figure out how to change what I get. I've ended up with the Rust Bowgun twice, and the Great Bone Gunlance like 5-6 times but never anything useful to me

You are pretty much stuck with what you have Daniel. All I can recommend, is to keep trying. I didn't get the GS I wanted, and instead have 3 dual blades, 2 hammers, 1 lbg (which I promptly made into the God's Archipielago) and some other stuff I wasn't ready to use. All I really wanted was that awesome looking slab of of Relic and smack things with it... but desire sensor won.

No, rapid fire has its own recoil that is not affected by the recoil down abilities. You want to have Rapid fire, which gives you an extra shot... so now you are throwing crags and clusters at a huge rate... then once that is done, Normal shot 2 rapid... bonus if you have Normal Shot up.

Yes that will work on Crag/Clust variant of God's Archipelago. But i was asking about status one which people use on speedruns. People are using Recoil Down+2 with it and silencer attached to get recoil on status shots lv2 as low as possible. Also limiter removed. The problem is i can have either:

1) Recoil down+2, Trap Master, Bombardier, Load up

2) Recoil down+1, Trap Master, Bombardier, Load up, Status Atk+1

I tested it and with recoil down+1 the recoil is to big :(It sucks because it'll make such great set.

I'd go with the first set: Recoil down+2, Trap Master, Bombardier, Load up.

If you're really wanting Trapmaster and Bombardier, AND want it soley for "speed" runs, go with it. I used a similar set but it had Reload Speed+1 as well. Requires a good charm tho: Recoil+4 OO. But you will be fine without the Reload Speed, I used this set for a long time and it works nice as a support gunner.

My new set I use with God's Archipelago is fairly easy to make with only a Status+6 Talisman, works sooo well.

Load Up
Bonus Shot
Recoil Down+2
Status Attack+2

Barrage Earring
Artisans Chest X
Artisans Arms X
Vangis Coat
Guild Bard (any Torso Up works)

I have recoil+5 OO so it's no problem. Can you give me link to that set?

I have Bomb boost+4, Speedsetup+9 tali so i can make:

Load Up
Bonus Shot
Recoil Down+2
Trapmaster
Bombardier

But bonus shot is pointless since for speedruns limiter should be removed to reduce the time of reloading to minimum. Unless you're just supporting for casual hunts.

I agree, if your purpose is for Speed Runs, the Limiter should always be removed for keeping reload to the absolute minimum as you said.

Normal = single shots with increasing powerlevels

Wide = Multiple shots depending on level that scatter. If you shoot up in the air, you will see the individual bombs and their scatter pattern.

Long Shots = Multiple damage points in the direction of your lance - Most damaging of the 3 styles of shots, if all points of damage connect (They start at the tip of your lance and end about 1 roll 1/2 away from your lance... the higher the level, the more points of contact, the higher the damage).

A:Normal Shots = 5 shells, i personally don't use a lot of normal gunlances. They are good for combo'n.

Long = 3 shells, the ranged is increased

Wide = 2 shells, wider blast radius.


Q: What are some good armor sets out there for Alatreon weapons? So far I have one for greatsword: Razor Sharp, Crit Draw, Rock Steady, and Focus. I'm mainly interested in one for the hammer and Lance.

And i thought that Wide has more damaging shells than Long. Long have more powerful WF for sure but i think Wide deals more dmg with shells than Long. Artillery Expert is also not must have on Long as opposed to Wide.

I use normal pretty much with my Lance sets and use shells only to extend combo. For Wide i have Artillety Expert, Load Up, Mind's Eye, Speed Sharpening, Guard+1. As far as long goes i use Brachy GL with Bombardier, Guard+1, Sharpness+1, Artillery Expert.

@PAiN: I'd drop Razor Sharp on that set. Ala GS has so much Purple sharpness that it last pretty much for entire quest. Instead i'd go for Critical Draw, Rock Steady, Focus, Mind's Eye (for Savage stomach and Ivory Horn etc.) and skill of choice. I go for Peak Performance but you can easily fit there Tremor Res. (perfect for Jho stopms) or Trapmaster.

Eh, you think so? o.o I may try that, it does have a fat lard of purple ^.^ I've been considering Peak Performance actually, I love it on the Ala gunner set. If I get rid of Razor Sharp I will most definatley want an damage replacement.

What's so good about this set Sai? It looks pretty bad for GS user. No critical draw, no focus, no mind's eye for not bouncing of certain monsters parts.

@PAiN: Its possible to get Weakness Exploit on that set too. But it requires Tenderizer+5, OO tali. It's a full set of Grand Yamato. Skills are Focus, Weakness Exploit, Mind's Eye, Rock Steady, Critical Draw. It works perfect as CE+2,3 would be useless here. It's an overkill on los head.

I happen to have that tali but i just hate the look of full sets  -__-
