First topic message reminder :

I figured now would be the perfect time to start a complaint thread about your experiences with Randoms as I have a complaint about them already.

Anyways, in the Demo I set up a room for Tetsucabra. I get 4 people and as I'm choosing weapons one of the people leaves booting us all from the server. I hate that!

Continuing to learn that attempting to find a room to get quests done is ridiculously annoying, many people are assholes, many people just plain ignore your existence aside from you helping on their own quests, and half of the rooms are just plain AFK.

I'm pretty bent out of shape that egg quests are still a thing. There really isn't any justifiable reason outside of padding, and they're the only quests you can make what amounts to basically negative progress on. And now they're used to unlock a certain special (also interesting, fun, engaging, etc) quest that got released anyway as DLC so just...why? Tradition? For those of us wanting to check all the quests off, I can't think of a quest type I hate more.

I skimmed a bit earlier on and it looks like this was originally meant to be about random party members specifically. This last page seemed to be a bit more broad "this particular thing sucks", but sorry if I stepped on any toes with an off topic! D:

Nah. This is just a general complaint thread about annoying shit in the game. Though online interactions do make the best stories.

On topic: I didn't realize how rare Blue Kut-Ku Shards were until it took 7 Kut-Ku to get 2 shards

Getting back into forum etiquette, yeah. Realized it pretty much right after I posted it.

As far as drops go, I went through over 20 Lagiacrus captures (not counting 8 or so Ivory caps), all with successful head breaks. No horns. Never finished his armor in 3U, which was more than a little disappointing. So the vent here is I'm all for multiple drops, rare items, etc etc, but it can feel really bogged down sometimes. I felt like I passed "Ah well, luck of the draw" and got well into "This is pretty terrible..." territory. Horns aren't supposed to be an uncommon item.

Guessing those monsters... weren't horny. *Ba-dam pish*

What's the range on Teostra's supernova!? I mean, good grief... Next time I am getting as FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE when Teostra takes to the air.

Yeah...

Teostra is easy with the IG. As lame as it is, you can mostly (Yes, I said mostly!) spam jump attacks and mount it like crazy.

Met a player who never took other players into account. Whenever the monster would chase him, he would always hide behind me as I was gunning. Luckily I'm actually good at this game and could avoid it.

My, but it's been awhile since I've posted online!  I've been tooling around by myself for the longest while, and have completed offline story.  I figured I'd start on the gathering hall quests and, since I haven't done so in years, go online and play with others.  First room was a french player, that was a lot of fun. (and by fun I mean a lot of google translating to hold a butchered english and french conversation!)  Second room was two regular players, had a lot of lag though.
Third room, though...  Jeez

sorry for the blurriness of the first one, I took the photo fast.  I didn't realize this little hacker gave zero short and curlies whether or not I took pictures of them.

Anyway, yeah.  I decided to go on a few quests with them, just to see their awesome armor in action.  They didn't even do anything, they just ran around in circles spamming shout outs like, "Let's do this!" and, "Nice work!"
Glad to see that the hackers and cheaters are indeed still present in this game, and that despite them having endgame gear... They still suck.

if you're talking about the supernova that happens 100 seconds after it goes into enrage i'm under the impression that it's area wide, so you should zone out around 80-90 seconds after it enrages then wait till after 100 and zone back in... i've heard horror stories of it supernova'ing imediately after being woken up from sleeping so i don't think sleeping stops the timer.

I just made G-rank and decided to do a gathering quest to ease into it and get some materials. In the quest the an APEX Rajang decides to show up and kill me. WTF...

It's actually not area-wide, but it IS pretty big. Fortunately, it's also very telegraphed - it's the only reason Teostra will actually start flying, other than changing areas and being mounted.
I can actually fight Teostra pretty confidently now.  It takes a little work, but I don't get hit often.


G-Rank Expedition Savage Deviljho is my new complaint, though, if only because it won't. Freaking. DIE. Also, two pin attacks, both of which HURT, and the defense-reducing saliva on top of that, and of course Dragon-element breath when I'm running Elder Dragon armor. Next time I'm fighting it, I'm eating for Felyne Dragonslayer and bringing a full stack of every potion type, Dung Bombs and Adamant Seeds.

Yesterday, I was grinding shagaru magala and actually befriended this gunner whom I thought was good.. turns out I had just messed up his long range shooting skill with another who actually had that skill and thus could shoot from further away and later realised that this gunner... was actually horrible. Horrible and cowardly.

What he did, was hide away at the load zone and ran away each and everytime shagaru tried to ram him. Then he was always so far away from monster he didn't do any damage at all. It was most noticeable when we had someone ragequit after one cart on shagaru at 138 lv something and me and my buddy lancer practically had to duo it, with a gunner target dummy who STILL took hits from shagaru and his aoe and balls of doom he does. So we not only had to keep ourselves as blademasters alive, we had to babysit a useless gunner who couldn't seem to dodge anything and fled away like a coward he was. The quest took like 20minutes and more because of that, myself managed to paralyse 4 times or something with only my lance buddy to capitalize on it.

He also had the audacity to tell me he can either be useless and gun from far away and stay alive... or he can come closer and just die. And being far away is better. Oh and he also clusted or crag shotted, randomly, at the head when I wasn't expecting it and hit me as well, just being a tool for no reason regardless of me saying that he shouldn't clust.

I'm not exaggerating when I say one palico would've been more useful than this guy, let alone two. They'd have at least done some damage and healed us. And wouldn't be able to get carted either.

Dude, if you cannot stay alive closer against a shagaru magala as gunner, you frikken get better! Or you bloody switch weps or... you don't do the quest at all since it's apparently way outta your league, it's not rocket science. But you're not gonna be useless target dummy on my guild quests, no way, you will get the boot. I can easily get hundreds of more competent and interested players into the grind of such high level guild quest. He was also angry that he was being criticised so, that this game is easy and everything. Then why if this game is so goddamn easy, we keep on triplecarting? So I booted him, but he later joined with his crimsom fatalis greatsword on his full chameleos status set (whyyyyy...) and regardless of giving him benefit of the doubt, did equally bad, still taking loads of hits and running around like a scared little kitten.

Also this one other guy, who was the one who ragequit after one cart, told my bf his defence is way too low (well ye it kinda is, but that's what happens when you can only grab a heavy armor sphere once during the day of hunting). I responsed smartly that his defence didn't stop him from carting (he was always taking damage left and right and carting in the process ye). So ye, next quest he was the first one to cart ofc. :p This guy then proceeded to doublecart on nearly every quest, while my bf barely took damage and smashing away on his chaos magala lance. Albeit he now says he won't ever want to do another shagaru again because of the horrible rng of the spouting shits and I can't seem to convince him to try it on another weapon either. ;_;

Those frenzy spouts aren't RNG, they actually spawn under you. Shagaru Magala, you crafty sonofabitch. (FYI, Dalamadur's fireball rain is targeted too.)

Gunning really takes the "hit it till it dies, don't get hit" system of MH combat to another level. You either use your extra range to react better to monster attacks, or you WILL get your ass handed to you and sent back to base camp. On the other hand, you can pretty much hit anywhere on the monster without getting bouncelocked.

Of course I'll have trouble getting Gravios Pallium after having so much trouble with Zinogre Skymerald...

Way, way too many people running around in their white fatalis, star knight or even golden lunemail sets and gear. Can't get much more hacked than that. I even went to check and downloaded all the dlc content and nope, no grank events at all.

Then I'm expected to play with these hackers too, or their friends and aunts and relatives. It's apparently ok to simply reap the benefits of your friends hacking, as long as you don't hack yourself. I say no, I will not support such things.

Depends on the game for me. For games like Payday 2, I can condone a hacker in my server, they're kinda rare and fun to watch. Besides, it'll only be for like one or two heists, which doesn't give that much.
But for equipment-based games like MH? They can get the hell out of my Hall.

Yeah. I can either break his horns or his tail if I focus my attacks on only one, but never both... Still fun to fight, though.

EDIT: I was hunting the HR Molten Tigrex with a group. I picked up a Molten Blastheart from a shiny. A minute or so later, my screen went black and a message popped up saying that the SD Card was removed (which it was not), so the game was closed.

It would be cool if I could get more than one good talisman

R/W issues should NEVER be taken lightly on anything you spend hundreds of hours on.

Being booted for the first time for having "+10 Edge Lore" in one piece. Guess the guy never heard of Torso up and +5 edge lore relic chest piece. Literally lol. And the guy was hosting lv140 Apex Deviljho.

@Antari That's awesome, that guy gets a gold star for reading comprehension (not).

Why is there no granny-go-to!? You can't collect enough iron and stones to keep up with bomb-casing use! Is there a good way to get these things? Ugh.

You can buy stone from the wyporium for caravan pts, If that helps?
