People whp truly master lonsword are skilled players brcause it is the easiest to pick up but hardest to use on a team because of the large hitbox it has. I personally am a longsword user and sometimes am annoyed by a lancer complaining about my weapon choice I give players a prior warning and post with a longsword equipted but then fhe entire team decides to lance making it hard for me to position myself and then get attacked for it. I feel other players need to be more aware of each other instead of just the monster in front I have gone entire runs with three longsword users maybe being tripped maybe 4-5 times wich is pretty small considering how some quests can take up to 20 minutes if not going for speed.
I myself use Lances, Longsords, and hammers. Going by what Yuki just said, I'd consider myself a "skilled" Longsword user. Although, with lancers, its sometimes hard to avoid them because they just keep getting in your way. When I'm a lancer, I never complain about others knocking me over with their Longswords. If they say sorry, then I'll let them know that it was fine. With hammers, I will sometimes superpound others, and I'll say sorry. However, if I hit the head and they were attacking it too, getting in my way, then I don't say anything. After all, I Usually warn them before the quest to stay away from the head. Anyway, back on topic. The most shameful thing I've ever done was when I was trying to kill my first G. Jaggi. I was bow gunning it with a weak bowgun, terrible armor, and using *clears throat* Normal Shot level 1. (-_-) After it taking me 40 minutes to kill it, I try using a hammer on the cap a G. Jaggi. I had no idea how to cap I monster, (evidently, I didn't read what the guild quest girl person had to say about capturing) then my brother tells me I have to place a trap, then throw the tranq bombs at it.I tried it and the jaggia got in my way and I lost the quest. (this whole time my heart was pounding with nervousness) I then try it again, but got a brilliant idea. WHY NOT CAPTURE IT AT THE START!?! Well, as you might have guessed, it didn't turn out all that well. I ended up getting fed up with monster hunter for a few months.

| Lol, I never actually try to get back at them unless they are being jerks, ordering me around, and then triple carting.
The only mean things I've done on purpose have been the bombings on low levels as they leave base camp.

The only mean things I've done on purpose have been the bombings on low levels as they leave base camp. Yeah, I only do things like that when it's constant every round, I don't do it everytime they do it, just when they do it constantly. As for mean things to newbies, all I've ever really done is purposly lead a jho to a couple of HR 31s I was helping with Peco+, one crapped himself because he'd never seen or heard about jho before. Bombing as they leave camp, never tried it, apart from the time when I was sleep bombing Alatreon and I didn't realize how close one guy was to the bombs and because he hadn't healed, he fainted. Another thing that I found quite fun to do to high ranks as a newbie was, in the middle of a Rathian quest or Peco (or any battle that could take place in area 8 of d.island) I would hammer launch, GS launch, SA launch them off the cliff to area 5, and just let them rage. It was hilarious. Ashamed of as a newbie? Never bothering with skills. I didn't know about skills until a high rank told me, before that I just used random mixes of armour that gave me high defense. I think at one point I had Uragaan helm, Lagi Chest, Diablo gauntlets, Rathian waist, and Jaggi leggings (no idea).

| Grash: Greaves!
I guess the only shameful thing I've done (apart from learning the chat system and accidentally lance-charging into someone is practically insist on full Jaggi and Hunter armour until I got Rathian armour. I KNOW, I KNOW, RATHIAN IS THE STEREOTYPICAL BAD SET, BUT I KNOW HOW TO USE DECORATIONS.

Not that hard to sharpen a weapon in the vicinity of the monster. Most shameful thing, is that I thought the GS would carry me through the game because of its high damage. But then I fell in love with hammer.

Oh yeah? I can out do that! I thought a low damage bowgun with normal shot level 1 could carry me though the game. Then I met the LS. btw, Merry Christmas everyone!

Happy Kaiju-Kristmas but I can beat both of those! The GS DID carry me thru the entire game, paired with low-asss-chit huntwr armor with like every slot filled with one of several different skills. Why? because I thought that having just +1 of a skill gave me the modification of that skill ro my armor >_> and I did this from hr 0 - hr 50, made a custom armor (that looked like battra) in order to fight alatreon, then went on/off between battra & hunter armor till hr 100 >_> how I got thru each quest with rarely a death is beyond me...' | well i knw the title says 'Most shameful thing you did when young and ''newbie'' ' well i'm already hr78 and that's not considered a ''newbie'' anymore but i've just learned it yesterday that of u tilt ur wii remote u can do all sorts of attack like on a lance when u tilt it to the left u poke upwards. and on GS u upswing if u tilt it to the left. i think. or was it to the right. anyway having about alot of hours goofing off on either offline or online. and i've just learned to do that when Yuki and Crystal was abusing me on one of our hunts >_>
ps. i am using the freestyle cuz i dont have that other control pad thingy

| I thought the Kehzu was really really hard when I first encountered it in MHF2. I had sucha hard time trying to kill it that my gf (now ex) told me that if I could kill it before she came home from school I would get 6 blow jobs. So I tried like a mad man and finally got him 10 minutes before she got home with one of the oldest techniques in the book: Item bashing!. I used so many explosive to take it down that it was embarassing.
Years later (infact august 2011, after playing MHTri like a baus) I went back to MHF2 and I killed that damn Kehzu on the first try without using alot of heals, and alot of explosive.
In fact, the Kehzu isnt even that hard to begin with.
