PostOver Looked Games

We've all had that one (or maybe a few) game(s) that we have enjoyed, loved and went on to play multiple times more.

But the game in question, it happens to be hugely over looked.
Which is saddening, as some of the less popular games are the ones that people who have been lucky enough to play it, will remember it due to it's charm.

For example, here's mine:

- Okami: A very unique game indeed. It had the most beautiful art-style I have ever seen in a game. But that wasn't all it had going for it! Okami also had a gripping storyline, addictive gameplay and of course, an amazing soundtrack! And despite it's popularity on both the PS2 and the Wii, Okami still went on to spawn a sequel. Okamiden on the Nintendo DS.

- Zubo: A rather unique Rhythm-Based RPG for the Nintendo DS. With some clever character designs and a rather interesting turn-based battle system. Not much can be said for the story, music, ect. But commanding a team of Zubo's in battle was fun! I mean c'mon... Pairing a Punk Rock Zubo with a Gothic Zubo, only to beat up a Gangster Zubo? EPIC!!

So that's two of my over looked games. Are there any you lovely people would like to mention? Feel free!

Mirror edge :i love this game alot the theme song just wonderful and over all the game was just fun

Tales of the abyss:most of you guys should know i'm a big fan of the tales games but from what i know this and alot of other tales games are pretty underated anyway the game story is really good, the gameplay is enjoyable it's simple to learn and with more skills you can do more, the charaters are well designed but yeah i'm going to stop before i go all fan boy again XD

Psychic force:as a child i loved this i never played 2012 (from what i know is better) but the first was enjoyable it's kinda like a fighter while being able to shoot some kind of element at someone and flying around in a cube all in one kinda like dragon ballz games also some of the charaters are pretty cool while others where meh and the areas looked nice for a ps1 game but i think the reason i love it so much was because i had it in my childhood never the less its pretty enjoyable and underated.

well this will do for now i guess o.o

I have no clue how Okami was overlooked, It got excellent reviews and was a pretty damn big deal when it came out on the PS2. Anyways, my games would be 4x4 evolution and peter jacksons king kong, best movie game ever.

Psychonauts. That game was amazing, yet barely anyone reveres it as a classic.

Everyone I talked to has never heard of it, although it did sell well, it wasn't nearly as known as many other games of today.

Well, of course it isn't going to sell as well as such games like Mario or halo, but not a lot of games can.

I guess it's just my opinion that a game that sold really well, and got amazing reviews by all the big game journalism companies, shouldn't be called "overlooked".

I also don't see why Majoras mask is on that list, but I'm not gonna nit-pick, because I feel a lot of people would agree that that's one of the most well known games of arguably one of the most famous video game series of all time.

Yeah, right now it is. Just because we're all waiting on the patch and/or PC version. Wasn't exactly overlooked at launch.
I'm sure we'll see more players when the patch drops and then PC version, and even more after a steam sale or two.
...We'd better get more players. It's like MvC without all the furious moments and Dante, Doom, Sentinel, Wesker and Virgil. and moar.

I had a YS game oddly enough on my older cell phone back in the day, was weird...

also http://www.dxx-rebirth.com/ how people haven't still heard of the old Descent games from Interplay and Parallax Software boggles me, that site there is a fan driven community who have kept the game alive and running on all the latest OS and computer parts today, enjoy the greatest true 360 degree intense flight shooting game most of you have never heard of.

(A bite of a late reply as it's the first time I have checked my topic since posting yesterday...)

Okami did get brilliant reviews on both PS2 and Wii.
But despite that fact, many people still don't know what Okami is.
And it gets ignored by many just for looking so different.

Heck, you say "Okami" to anyone nowadays... They'll ask if it's a new gun in Call of Duty:Black Ops 2....

Well... You have to consider that it DID just get an HD re-release... Which Capcom has been hyping up on its Japanese channel for the past few months leading up to its release.
I don't think you can say it's too overlooked if they gave it the HD treatment and advertising.

Mario.....

Hey if some of these other games being named are on here u can say Mario. First off anything getting an "HD remake" wasn't overlooked. It was popular enough to be brought back. And when you say "overlooked" are you talking about in the EU, US, Japan or everywhere? Or just personally?

If the games listed are just personally overlooked I understand that but overlooked in general... I've seen only a few listed that I think would qualify.

Cave story is not one of them.... Nor okami, Zone of the Enders and several others. All those were high profile games in most places with "HD" and multiple other sequals and remakes on multiple platforms. Hardly overlooked.

Y's also had multiple releases and animes.... As pointed out.

Not trying to be negative towards anyone's veiw just wondering what people considered "overlooked"?
