| Doh, forgot about Heroics. Also, bring in a might pill... you would be surprised how much more attack that gives over a power seed. Also, I am pretty sure Mega-Demondrug does not stack with the kitchen's attack up. Try it.
Journal: been joining random rooms using some random full sets "for the lulz", and pulling my weight in the hunts, checking to see how many people kick me when I go into the room, before the first hunt. Surprizingly, I was never kicked... Guess purple name does command respect...

| Getting Zinogre's armor set to fight the Ivory Lagiacrus. I must be the slowest guy in the forum, I'm still in the 9* village quests and not even close to G rank in the port. That's what happens when you have a month without touching the 3DS. Anyway I've gotten the head, arm and leg pieces... damn Zinogre's Electrofur (lit. translation of spanish text may or may not be called that way in english) | |

| Hit G-Rank and wailed (never gonna get tired of saying this) on the whale 3 more times; getting a dark dragongem on the first run, a couple of elder dragon bloods and a regular deus gem on the rest before I gave it a rest.
Underwater camera felt incredibly strange for the first two hunts... must be a patch of rust that crept up outta nowhere.

You're right there with me. I just defeated village Jho. However, before starting on Port, I wanted to finish upgrading my weapons and make an Azure Los armor set. However, all I need left... is two Rubies. Ugh. Also, Glacial Agnaktor is a lot harder than regular Agnaktor for some reason. ._. Why everything I need has to require Claw+...

I do not seem to find any differences in the agnactors at all... maybe it is due to weapon choices. What weapons are you using? Journal: Been trying to do my Artisan Hammer Award... Amazing how much of the high-level mats I need... Got all the G mats.. mantles, Crooks, Moonstones... all the "rare items", and yet... high rank claws and horns... nope.

| I'm using longsword, Wyvern Blade "Flame" at this stage.
Mostly it's due to the hardness being when it comes out instead of over time, since it usually digs a lot, and also for some reason it likes comboing me a lot more than regular Agnak does.

Ahhh, gotcha... I never had to worry about the hardness with the weapons I was going in with. Greatsword would be the only exception, but the level 3 charges to the chest never seem to be reflected. The Hunting Horn has built in "mind's eye", and the gunner sets don't have to worry about that. Hope it goes better for you moving forward, and you get better sharpness or/and mind's eye. Journal: Saw a room called "NoDummies"... naturally, I wanted to see what type of douche would do that. There were 2 heavy gunners in the room, and I changed to the LBG, knowing that these type prey on blademasters keeping the monsters attention while they shoot from a distance. Low n behold, the room leader dies twice and the other HBG dies once to end the quest. Their response at the end: "Expletives, ... o well, happens to the best of us." I was laughing so much on the inside, but decided to stick around anyways. A hammer user came in, and we did have many good hunts after that, but I still saw them as pre-judgmental douchebags, for naming the room as such. Take the good with the bad imo.

First of all, LOL@"NoDummies" room creator carting twice.  What monster were they fighting?  Second, I'm not surprised...  I find that HBGing effectively is one of the most difficult things to do in Monster Hunter.  It probably has the highest learning curve. You can absolutely DESTROY things (fastest speed runs) but the combination of extremely low mobility and gunner armor means that you have to be pretty skilled to be even moderately effective.  For me, having evade extender is almost a necessity against some monsters.  I made a bowgun-only hunter (LBG & HBG) and I'm having a blast.  Some monsters are very difficult to fight with the HBG (Brachy, I'm looking at you) but it's soooo rewarding.

| They were doing the Sand-Barioth/Black Diablos advanced. The Barioth was all over the map very quickly, once that died, the Diablos did a OHKO while he was trying to sheath. I couldn't lifepowder even though I saw it happening... no mid-air healing available for the last cart... just the failure screen.
I agree that HBG is a difficult weapon to use... but it is also very dependent on the full cooperation of others to really shine... that, or good use of evade extender. These players didn't have evade extender, and while I could have just gone in my GS or HH setup and helped them out, I found it more amusing to use my ultra mobile LBG. I never purposely trolled them mind you... but I felt very tempted.
To their credit, once there was a blademaster (a rank 7 non-the-less), they did exceedingly well. They also did help that player complete all the key quests he had, with the exception of Dire.

| S. Bari with HBG is menageable but B. Blos? Well let's say these guys got guts. Many of B.Blos attacks are ohko on gunners and on HBG lack of mobility makes it even harder to survive. This quest, and many others, will be a piece of cake if they have status gunner suppotring them though. | |

Agreed. Black Diablos is probably the hardest monster in the game to HBG. He's incredibly fast which is a problem because HBG is the least mobile class. He's incredibly strong which is a problem because it's a gunner class. It's just a bad matchup.

| All you need for this quest is that ice event swax. 4 ppl with it and it's an overkill. S. Bari dies so fast, B. Blos got stunned all the time. | |

| I've honestly never had a problem with Black Blos using HBG. I really rely on Mega Dash juices/ evade extender/ and using a weapon w/o the limiter. I make use of getting the horns stuck on both pillars, sonic/ flash/ pit/ flash combos, and lots of bombtraps. Due to his chance to OHKO gunners, I dont try to eat for power buffs to much and go for Defense up or Moxie ^.^
and Sand Bari, god I HATE to melee him >.> LBG is my way to go for him.

After that gotta tackle the remaining key quests before fighting the Ivory Lagi (thanks god for that MH3U guide on the android phone) After that I'm going to have a debate of should I get a PS3 or a WiiU... I'm not only the slowest guy in the forum but also the most left behind in consoles...
