I still have to do lagi HBG, S. Zin HBG and Gobul+Plesioth with blademaster weapons... I have question, was it hard for you to solo Gobul+Plesioth? I fell comfortable with underwater arena only with lance/gunlance :/

Well I don't exactly like fighting gobul so that was a bit of a problem with that quest. Dual Swords was the easiest weapon for me, could take out both in 3 minutes or so each. Switch axe was kinda annoying but got better when plessy arrived. The quest wasn't that bad overall but it had its annoying moments (mostly thanks to gobul >_>).
Lagi and S. Zin though, they were by far the absolute worst gunning experiences I've ever had in MH.
Some tips for zin: Gather flash bombs from the furthest right gathering spot from where you enter. It's handy if you crouch as soon as you get into the arena and make your way over to the spot so you don't aggro him. Flash him while he's in normal mode and spam siege normal 3/2. Take any other openings while he's in normal mode to get out some siege shots, such as him charging up power or him charging towards you after dragon ball attack (just roll sideways).
While raged try using pellet S to damage him out of it. Pierce 3 also works, sieging at this time is risky but there are openings. After his dragon balls fly towards you, you have a chance to siege for a small bit if he charges towards you. Try not to put away your HBG unless you need to heal up, you should be able to dodge his punches and dragon balls like a champ. Also it helps if you keep zin around the middle of the arena.
Hope these tips help you, they were really the only reason I survived that awful challenge. It's all about timing sieges and being able to outsmart him.
And for lagiacrus... All I can say is to stay on the floor of the arena. His attacks seem to be easier to avoid down there.
Good luck!
Also a side note, siege mode = crouching fire just in case you didn't catch on; it's a P3rd thing ;P

Today I decided to do the event 'Cruel King of the Sea' DUO mind you with my brother... 35mins in and 2 deaths later, we capped it and I got my 2nd ticket...
Then my 3DS decides to be a /trl/and shuts down after I get back to the port and without letting me save... No words are needed to describe my frustration right now... /palm/

Redone the 'Cruel King of the Seas' event quest again, same as the aforementioned without the deaths, 35mins and one faint we capped and I got my 2nd Thunderclap Diploma, I think that I'll continue hunting it duo as most people I find online will triple cart in >5mins /palm/and my Agna Z lance set works like a dream against it when matched with Mega Dash Juices xD. 2/5 Diplomas so far, I cannot say I want that Gunlance already D:

I know how you feel man, I felt like that on Tri and sometimes on Ultimate when people host quests you need and leave after they have got what they wanted out of it... I wish that they had the courtesy to keep hosting it until everyone gets what they need... Like I did when I was hosting the Dragon's Roar event in my city /-_-/

So, after doing Rathalos a whole bunch just to try and finish my Red Tail lance, I only needed one more tail and two more flame sac. I get the tail on the first quest, but then I didn't get a single flame sac. I got one shell, like four webbing and three marrow. Definitely not what I needed lol. So I tried capping it, and then I got a talon and even more marrow and webbing. Not to mention I have like over 30 scale at this point even though I've only done like 6 hunts, plus making the Wyvern Blade Fire.
First time I did the Rathian cap quest, I get two Flame Sac. Go figure.

My friend that got me into MH finally got MH3U. We got him to HR3, I got a lot of low rank mats, I'm using them to make a lot of base weapons. Made an all around bow set, upgraded my bari SnS all the way. Trying to finish all of my HR8 quests.

You have to finish a city sooner or later. The couple of times I've made a city for a specific monster I kept going for a while after I got what I need, but with people coming and going there's pretty much always going to be someone who misses out.
I only did the one hunt last night (have been getting distracted cause a friend lent me all of SG1 on dvd), joined a hr34 guy in a HR8+ city, he was using Dire Miralis dual blades, and had Gold Rathian posted, we had a 3rd guy come in and join the quest with Jho GS, I'd switched to Sanctioned Sword. Though to myself "this'll be fun"... 20 min later we'd failed, the host had carted twice, the other guy once. Next the host posts Silver Los, so I mention that thunder or water are the better options for those 2 monsters, and they both quit... so I sighed and went to bed.

Spoiler:
Finally back to the hunt! Started the day with three HR Barioth for the materials I needed to upgrade my Snow Sisters Ice duals into something useful in HR; as well as a Tundra Paw Pass quest to grab the Gracium. Half way through this, the Argosy came into port telling me about the Brachydios, which is cool 'cause I was just wondering about how to unlock his quest.
The Barioth hunts were rather uneventful, broke everything each run and capped them; though the last one was more difficult. I couldn't seem to hit its tail much at all, and my Archdemon bar kept depleting really quickly with all the dodging I was having to do. Used almost half my potions (both regular and mega) on that one, but eventually I got to his tail and capped him as well. Shortly after I found he was a silver crown Barioth; guess that might have had something to do with it.
The Paw Pass quest took forever cause of the damn Desire Sensor. Got just the amount of Gracium I needed (all 2 of them T_T) after burning 20 minutes and 4 mega pickaxes... Good thing you can buy those things now. There was also a Lagombi that kept following me around, being ridiculously annoying as I tried to mine what few nodes were respawning. Still, picked up a Fucium ore too, just the one mind you but from what I can tell Ima need a few of these later on.
With that, I finally got back and upgraded my Ice duals to within useable parameters. They're now stronger than my Dragon ones, albeit with less blue sharpness and lack of a slot, but I wasn't using the slot anyway and I have two sharpness related skills so that's fine.
Or so I thought. Apparently the blue sharpness only lasts for 2-3 combos before being dulled to green... Still. Seeing a LR Rathian in Free Hunt I thought it'd be the perfect time to try out the new duals and maybe get a sorely needed 4* commodity. Unfortunately, I killed it as soon as it started limping. Huh. There was also a Qurupeco in the area, so I turned on him as well. Similar story... Verrry nice. /dev/
On to Brachydios then. Now that was fun. Hard, but fun. His hand can take some serious punishment it seems; they were the last to break (I didn't know I was even hitting the head and that broke first) and even then I only got one of them. Took about 15 minutes and I carted once but I eventually wore him down and capped him. Definitely gonna be farming this guy, if only for the Slime Dual Swords.
Tried and failed to cap a Lagiacrus in free hunt, definitely gotten to the point where I can't wait for limping if I want to capture low rank monsters now, mah duals just put out too much damage. Still, even though I killed it I got the 2* commodity for it... Weird.
Took a rather long break then came back and hunted two more Brachydios... Not as fun as the first time. Very very infuriating actually. Second hunt took 35 minutes and I kept having to take breaks to go find Aptonoth for raw meats and to go back to the supply box for essentials. Not fun. Still, got just enough for Dios Slicers, and now I'm debating whether to try for the Gem I need to upgrade them again.
After those two stress filled hunts though, I decided to hunt a Jhen because can, (and partly for the Pelagicite ore from his back) after finding out that Jhen supposedly along with Ceadeus and the like take a lot of damage from Slime, as opposed to bird wyvern monsters and such. Wow. That was fun. I remember being almost scared of fighting Jhen back in Tri, as I'd seen many 4 man team failing to do it, but holy hell I felt like a god while doing this. Cracked both openings on his back MUCH faster than I thought I'd do it, AND destroyed both tusks. Evidently I also broke his legs too, I got a few Braces+ from the rewards at the end. Landed the first dragonator perfectly but didn't know the opening for the second in the final showdown, so that didn't do nearly as much damage as it could have. Still, after I couldn't collect anymore bombs for some reason, I took to just meleeing its legs; then after a few rounds decided to just attack the belly. Judging by the amount of attack lag I got from doing that, I imagine that's a pretty good idea; especially when your stamina is at its lowest with no recovery items. (herpaderp) The feeling you get when you make Jhen fall over just by slashing at it a bit is osserm; and then unloading combo after combo in its mouth, with the weakest hitzone possibly in the game feels even better. It was at the end of one of those combos that actually got me the kill; ten minutes before the end of the quest!
I think my MH3U feels guilty about those Brachydios quests from before; (I got desire sensor'd out of freakin' Raw Meat of all things; then burnt both because Area 11 of the volcano is hell to cook in if you rely on watching for the colour change of the meat) since during the body carves I got not one, but TWO Earth Dragongems in a goram row. YUS.
Too bad Jhen armour isn't what it used to be... :/

I didn't do a lot today. I just farmed some g-rank Zinogre and stuff. Nothing souper special happened, but one group. Oh man this one group was bad in a funny way.
I put up a city for farming some G Zinogre, it didn't take long to fill. One person was a swaxer who didn't really understand armor skills. He put on his equipment as he forged it, so he had a mix of Zinogre X and Brach with no skills. The other was a hammerer, and the last was the sorta guy who switched weapons every other quest or so. Just like me. The swaxer didn't know that you could avoid using the upswing, so people flew left and right. It was pretty funny. The hammerer never went for the head, so she just attacked whenever. This added to the amount of people in the air at once. The other guy was alright, except for when he gave hammering a go. He went for the tail. It was hilarious.
Once the other guy switched to hammer, I switched to h. bowgun. I wanted no piece of that up-swing action. I decided to do the hammerers' job for them and emptied all my crag shots into the Zinogre's head. KO'd it once, and broke both horns. That's pretty sad. Then I switched to my light bowgun with rapid fire Exhaust lvl 1 and Crag lvl 1. I also came loaded with Crag lvl 2 and 3, and Exhaust lvl 2. The other guy left, so it was just the hammerer and swaxer to quest with. We did the double Zinogre quest (Cloudless Thunder), and after the first Zinogre, the hammerer realized that I was taking her job. She got mad at me and went out of her way to upswing me. In the end I KO'd both Zinogre's twice and broke both of their horns. Fun way to end the day.

So today Haruno asked me to come online, so joined him in a city destined for Cruel King event, did a few ones with no success so we decided to duo it, 25mins in and 2 deaths, I faint again as Haruno superman leaps to take the hit (I was stunned and on 50% HP, so instant 1HKO) We regrouped, tried again with 3 people and failed again, this random shows up sporting Gigginox X armor with the Master Kettleblower LBG, so we got him to status as we went down to town, 17mins later, we emerged victorious, and repeated it again, then he left, and Haruno needed to go so the other guy and I went to a friend of mine's city, we did a few Savage Jho and then I hunted with Will and did a Jho, March to Victory and Savage Jho arena, all in all a good day after spending 2 hours for the Thunderclap Diplomas, and forged Lightning Blaze, now just need cash x.x - Happy Hunting

Spoiler:
Nothing much of particular excitement today; just a bit of back-tracking to hunt two Nibelsnarf for their high rank claws, to upgrade the Plesioth water duals I made. Also saw a Brachydios in free hunt, carted three times before I was able to capture it... no commodity and no (much needed) gem. D:
Also took on a high rank Agnaktor to find the recipe for the Salamanders fire duals, to replace the Rath ones I have that aren't ageing well into higher ranked quests.
After that I went back to upgrading my water duals, taking on the Plesioth again, thrice in fact. Desire sensor is so awful... All I needed was 4 Fin+, it even went so far as to give me 2 wyvern stones in one hunt but only one fin+.
Got what I needed regardless, upgraded my duals to Plesioth Cutlasses+ then sighed heavily as I saw I need ANOTHER five Fin+ to upgrade again. Luckily though, it's doable at High Rank, just need the next village rank to unlock Glacial Agna and farm some of his stuff. Should make my Brach runs a little less painful once I get that. However, to make Glacial Agnaktor easier, I decided to work harder on the Fire duals. With that in mind, I set out on another Agna+ hunt.
This has happened a couple of times now, I start in the secret area (even though I didn't get Explorer) and I also forgot to bring Cool Drinks. I can't abandon and get some because I'm in the secret area and I've just gotten rustshards and various ores and armour stones. I have to run back to base, through the agnaktor, painting him on the way, then sit in the supply area til the spare drinks arrive.
However. It got to the ten minute mark and there were still no items being delivered, so I decided to screw it and restarted; capped the Agna and got quite a lot of rewards from it. With that, I called it a day and came off, too tired to even think as I finish this journal entry. T_T

I had posted a room to do my last two quests, The Earth Quakers and Sea Shakers quests. I wanted 4 people, but this low level guy came in, wasn't really impressed with his armor and weapon ( G-Rank Nox and SnS). But he joined the quest and was ready. So I said eh what the heck, duram loves poison why not. We ended up destroying everything, shortly two more joined and we flew through Sea Shakers.

Not much today, did my Zinogre urgent (twice technically, but I had to leave before I could finish the first run) and two Azure Los, beginning to farm for his armour. Debated waiting until G-Rank but the only difference is more defence and 5 more Expert points; and I need something better than Wroggi quickly. Got a Ruby on my first run too, just one more to go. To be honest it make take me just as long to get the second ruby as the three tails I need. Cutting A.Los's tail with Dual Swords is not funny.

Finished my HH collection! ^_^.
So many bugs to kill to finish all those violins... And I still need more to do my Bhanara Armor to combo with the violins. Gotta play the part /rock/
I am no longer min/maxing to get the "best" out of my armor skills and sets. I am now going exclusively for looks, over function. Group quests are easy enough and are not challenging, so no need to maximize what I do there. Soloed all monsters with the HH, and almost done with the GS as well... still need to solo Savage Jho and Abysal with my GS set to feel that one is done as well.
I have postponed making a gunner set, but I am feeling the pressure to start it soon... I might do all the arena quests first though to have some earings to show for my work.
