| Did Hades event last night with a bunch of randoms. Captured it after 25 min mark. We tried it again but they start carting and we fail. Still need 4 skulls for that GS. | |

To my credit... I truly believe no one but me should "own" the head section... specially since I have KO master, and have been going for it exclusively from the start. Good hunting teams know that this SHOULD be the case. No one seems to know anymore what good party etiquette is.

| Finally got through all the village quests. Now I have to fight Alatreon... I'm having a hard time with her now that I have to do it completely alone. Cha-cha and Kayamba? They only work as bait so Ala gets distracted and I can heal after one of her many almost OHKO attacks. I tried using slime but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I might try to use ice as it is her weakness but the only useful ice weapon I have is the Rime & Treason. And I need another armor, the Zinogre armor doesn't seem to hold up.
TL;DR: Help with Ala please.

| Ice is its weakness when on the floor... Dragon when in the air. Alatreon changes weaknesses often, so your best bet is to go for either slime, or straight raw.
Use the Ultimate mask, since Alatreon will not be able to damage it until its stamina is gone (and if you bring Wyvern Meat to give the ultimate mask user, this wont be as big an issue. also make sure the skill of the Ultimate mask user is Quick recovery, and that in its songs list, you have taunt. Doesn't really matter much what mask your other member has, but if you have unlocked it, bring the false feline... that way, even in defeat, you will still get a reward.
When Alatreon is airborn, if you are having problems reaching it without getting hit, let Cha-cha or Kayamba distract it, and fill up on Ballista shots. Attack when it is back down on the floor, and next time it goes into the air, use the Ballista binder, and do some damage. Whenever the binder is not available, keep shooting it with regular ballistas until it falls down (4 direct ballista hits in between flinches).
Overall, keep practicing on whatever is your preferred weapon.

| Hm, all weapons that can't block, and out of all of those I would go Hammer. Gotta remember the village Alatreon is a pseudo grank alatreon so its pretty powerful and difficult using high rank gear only, but it can be done. You're gonna want some hearing protection and possibly evasion if he is too tough.
Ballistas: When you spawn, you can find ballistas in a junk looking pile to the left, in between the wall and the balista launcher. Next you can go up towards the ballista and find another pile to the left. Beside the lava. the other piles are on the opposite sides of the map

I did it on my second try without even nearly so much trouble! I got him with the dragonator twice, broke all parts and used the gong to flip him on his back twice, where I used LBB in his mouth to deal loads of damage ;) flipped him first with hitting his stomach and then got two extra carves lol You were definitely right about only using the ranged weapons at range... The SWaxe deals way more damage than the ballista, and I didn't even use the cannon! I can get my GL now! I can't upgrade it yet though, and it isn't as good as others before it gets upgraded... :/

| If you're doing solo, here's what I did: whenever I see Raging Queens advanced quest (3 Rathian) I grabbed my Alatreon lance upgrade fully and headlocked them until all of them died, it takes me about 6 minutes to solo so it isn't a time issue. If the first monster is a gold crown, I don't save after quest complete and quit the game without saving and then posted a gold crown monster. It's how I gold a Gold Crown Large Gold Rathian xD | |

| So now I know that Rock Steady's hearing protection isn't Earplugs or HG Earplugs. It's in the middle of the two.
And so far, I know Deviljho and Alatreon's roars can be blocked with Rock Steady.
